It's the new web 2.0!  Big buttons!  Crazy colors!  Stupid simple layouts!  Millenials!  MILLENNIIIAAAALLLLLSSS!!!!

I haven't checked if it is built on a RWD platform, but anything has to be better than the old site.

It seems like new fonts and colors, mostly somewhat easier to look at, but the basic setup of the app doesn't seem to have changed (fields, hierarchy) and so is still kind of WTF. Color scheme is indeed like some engineer's idea of "nice"

I really want to enjoy the new Cosmos series more than I actually am. There's just too much sweeping grandious overarching statements and just not enough detail for me. He'll say something amazing that makes me think of 5 questions and instead of hanging around to answer them, he goes flying off in his spaceship and talks about something else. I think they're just trying to cover too much.

He says that evolution is FACT - and he does so on FOX TV.
This is more than enough for me. If you say anything else negative about it, I'll never speak to you again.

@Stokes OK, so this is an inspiring show, but the presentation of the multiverse (universe inside a universe, inside a universe type stuff) comes across as established fact, which is utterly bonkers! This is a so far untested/untestable theory, as in, there are zero experiments that support it. Cosmologists love it, because it's lofty and interesting, but it's more belief than science (right now  

No quarrels about any of the comments or criticisms and I am usually the first to be repulsed by misrepresentation or incomprehensibility of popular 'scientific' presentations.

However, for this show, I am closing my eyes to all of that and enjoying the social implications of having cosmology, evolution, and molecular biology put in the face of FOX viewers in prime time. Just last week I asked for my NYU discount at my local bakery and, after the sales person ascertained what I taught, asked if I actually believed that we were related to monkeys. Yes, this was in NYC. Instead of giving a direct answer, I told her that most of our little  molecular machines are actually closely related to and designed from those found in bacteria (exactly the point that Neil deGrasse Tyson was making yesterday with respect to the eye). She responded by saying something like, 'Monkeys maybe, but never bacteria!'

Mind you, I'm also telling people that I am running for public office once my lab is forced to close due to the dirth of NIH funding. I'm aiming to blind all those republicans with science!

The evolution of the eye was amazing.
