our eyes would be evolving to be better, but we spend too much time sitting in front of these screens arguing about TV shows and whether red bicycles are faster (why do we argue about PROVEN scientific fact), and turning our eyes into mush.

Having eyes whose underlying structure was selected for underwater sight is strong evidence that we evolved from underwater animals. Evolution builds upon its own previous iterations. Land animals are still being selected based on the performance of our eyes, but adaptations can only occur against the existing structure, which came about underwater.
One question this may raise for some: If species were created by intelligent design, why would land animals be stuck with eyes whose design is so intrinsically flawed for vision in the atmosphere, but underwater animals get similar eyes that work so much better in their habitat?

Just add for Marc's benefit that evolution of the eye has not stopped. But it is like a new release of WIndows OS, which carries the baggage of all the old algorithms and requires backwards compatibility with legacy software and device drivers. There is no room in evolution for NeXT.

This is off topic but it explains my absence on rides, etc.
I'm in desparate need of a place to stay/live on a temporary and very infrequent basis. The landlords at my studio in greenpoint are convinced I'm living on the commercial lease and I need to show otherwise or I might lose the pace for me and my studio mate of 16 years which would be a huge screwing over of him and well...that would be bad.
If anyone has any leads, is in need of a house sit, whatever shoot me an email or give me a call. I would only need a few nights a week, a couch and a place to drop a back pack until I can sort out something going forward.
