Enjoying CRCA.

btw. I am squarely team Jayson.

(but you know, if you thought that some kissena riders leaving for sommerville was a thing, check that stuff out)
Not sure what this refers too....but I did dig up this gem from their board meeting. CRCA is going to be running fewer open races in 2015.

"10) Discussion of extent of open racing and staffing—The main stresses on open racing seem related to the out-of-park races, which will be less in 2015 due to the club only running two or three open races in 2015: Bear, Orchard and possibly Grants (depending on approvals). If the results piece is resolved better and another board position (publicity) fully takes over sponsorship, Joe Grgic argued that the main stress on the director of open race position is logistics. The board discussed various options, from adding a board position to using a service like taskrabbit. The discussion concluded with a resolution to start first with recruiting an in-club volunteer position, similar to the director of motos, with the club member in that position serving as the point person for coordinating teams’ contributions to logistics, other volunteers and/or services."
c'mon Bertucco, you can do better than that.

There is a big squabble going on in public (facepalm) between Jayson and some of the CRCA board. Great example of what not to do.

Very unfortunate all around.

Liz Marcello is also running for president. I think she's awesome and will do great. Still I am on team Jayson. He is awesome too.

Oh, I get it. Jeesh, if he had just had an editor, left out the CRCA board slamming, it would have been a perfectly unoffensive statement of reflection and purpose for re-election.

You know, here's what I did, here's what I want to do...vote for me!
Dude its CRCA who cares

FWIW, I happened to be partially present for a Mengoni altercation that involved Jayson.

We were heading up 110berg, he yelled at someone.  Then someone, I think it was Lynn Murray. maybe not the same someone he was yelling at, yelled back, and Jayson asked him, in a menacing voice, "are you threatening the president of your club?"

It was hard to stop from laughing out loud.

Ain't never going back.

Not sure if any of you are "friends" with Foundation on FB, but earlier today they posted a question:

"What are you views [sic] on CRCA vs Kissena?"

I'm proud of myself for not taking the bait. Seems that no one else cared to either. No comments.
Maybe I'm missing some sort of local history but what kind of ridiculous question is that?

You should be proud. It's way beneath you. I shot Ric a note though and he replied almost instantly with "no hidden agenda, just looking for commentary on NY's premiere cycling clubs."

I think it was just a slow news day for him.

Even better is the airing of grievances by various board members and prospective board members.  Little is beneath them, though the fact they're not good writers doesn't help.

Prospect Park!! That's awesome.

Often sites will customize content based on your IP's location. In this case, however, the shot seems to be the same anywhere in the world.

Thereby proving that Brooklyn really is the center of the world!
Or that when you're done with it, you go work in Palo Alto, and reference Brooklyn as 'the good old days'.

I'm not sure what's more distressing... Cycling being mentioned in this
article or that people care enough about cheating in video games

Uh I guess you've never "accidentally" tripped over your brother's Sega Genesis controller just when he was about to uppercut your character in the face for a flawless victory, thus forcing you to do his chores for a week.
