He is positively frightening. This is not surprising

So I don't know how many of you follow Foundation on FB, but I came across a congratulatory post/pic of one of their guys who got his Cat 1 upgrade. And I'm like, who is this guy?

And so I google him, and I'm like, how does he get his upgrade?

I mean some solid results, but, there's no way in hell he has 35 points.

Wait, so I don't want to seem even dumber/uncooler than I am, but I just saw a FB/Instragram post.

Was Jeff A. on the Letterman Show last night? What band is he in?
I don't think his band played on the finale. They're called Passion Pit and I also don't think that he's in it anymore.

That's an old photo from when he was in the band.

Yikes
Ouch. Kerry was obviously doing recon for an upcoming Tour bid. Guess he'll have to hope to get back into form for the Vuelta.

Well, I finally won something related to racing...
NICE!
Hey Folks, we get some boring (spam) some strange and some interesting stuff via our facebook page.

Here is a message we got today. Any aspiring filmmakers out there?

Hello, I’m Jessica Jacobs, a poet who lived in New York for five years and, during that time, commuted almost entirely by bicycle. I’m writing because I had the good fortune to have a poem I wrote about biking in the city selected as the winner of a competition put on by a Minneapolis-based organization called Motion Poems, which produces short films based on poems.
They’ve just put out a national call for filmmakers with cash prizes. If any of your members are filmmakers, I imagine they might have an inside track with their intimate knowledge of riding in the city and even access to filming some actual rides.
Here’s a link to the poem (http://www.motionpoems.com/big-bridges/#Love) and the guidelines for the film (http://www.motionpoems.com/big-bridges/ ).
Thank you for your help getting the word out about this.
All best,
Jessica Jacobs

Happened to to pass by this beautiful store in Carroll gardens, great coffee and some awesome vintage bikes, boutique feel to it , but worth popping in and supporting
+1 for maglia rosa.
Whoa
Across the street from my kids' school.  I volunteer for drop off a lot more because of that spot.  While I'm here, figured I'd drop off this for Yang and Owens.

My commute home today was a little toasty...

@dstearns I must have it.

An eight-minute commute mid-afternoon.  Sweet.

I know, going home at 2:40pm? That's mid-day for me - after starting at 8am.

Hey looky here...a dude who I used to race with in Belgium (he was really, really good...probably should have been a pro, if we were competing in a clean era) and current employee at our team sponsor Stages, Ben Sharp part of the winning 35+ pursuit team.

Also, busted doper Kenny "Kenneth" Williams is back at it. Joy.

Dude, that is my new bike security system. the Kryptonite BEEZ(tm) system.

Anybody tries to steal my bike, gets a face full of angry bees.

I think I have a good chance at podium this weekend:

Don't know what I'll do if anyone else signs up though.
Kick their asses too?!
Marc is that your Tokeneke field?
Marc is that your Tokeneke field?
No, that's just the Iron Hill Crit qualifier race. The actual real race that I care about, will have qualifiers from a mess of other categories, so I expect a full field of 60+ riders for the evening show-down.

As a side note, many of you know that while I'm a big fan of crossresults points and rankings, it's sibling road-results rankings don't earn my props. Here's a perfect example, the guy predicted to win our qualifying crit? With his super super low points ranking? Well, he earned them doing open category hill climbs and one ITT. He doesn't have a single recorded mass-start road race, crit or otherwise to his name. And yet his points would indicate that he would podium the NCC pro race beating National Champ Dan Holloway.

My Tokeneke field is small though too. I'm predicted to finish almost in last placer there though. I expect a similar race dynamic to the Capitol Region.
Marc, if I were fitter than a hippo, I would love to join you for some of these races, but for my racing $ I have to go where I am guaranteed an easy hill and the prayer to stay attached to some form of the field. We'll see though.

Ah, keep at it, the fitness will come around again!
