Wireless is great if it's bombproof but as anyone who has ever used wifi knows trouble shooting it can be tricky.

I'm all for fewer wires in my life but I'll wait to see how it works in the real world before I jump either way.

I'm sure there will be glitches, especially in the beginning, however, I wonder if these occurrences will be more frequent than a missed shift/dropped chain due to poor timing, technique and/or mechanical adjustment.

But yeah, I'm obviously not an "early adopter." I just wonder if wireless will be fit for public consumption before I "have to" upgrade my 10-speed Ultegra. Of course, if available, the Giant CX bike I've been eyeing comes with 11-speed Di2 for, at our discount, a seriously tempting price.

Inside that folder, you should be able to find your username, and inside that user's files, documents, desktop, etc...

If you don't have a Users folder in Time Capsule then you are probably not backing it up. Change your backup settings to include it.

     Could you try the following?  First, open a folder where you keep power files.  Second, scroll up to the Time Machine option at the top of the screen.  Third, click on the icon and pull down the menu.  Fourth, click on "enter time machine".

That should get you in.

Once I did the complete back-up, and downloaded the latest PowerAgent software, all my files were right where I expected them to be. It appears too now that all my "on the road" files are in the same place, I had indeed broken my last standing power record set in 2011 on a ride with JP.

At the Delaware Gap (PA) last weekend and spot our very own JP crushing out some miles on our way back. How far did you go JP? Beautiful riding up there, the judder line on the shoulder of main roads is super annoying but if you stick to back roads it's sweet.

What never fails to amaze me is how locals never seem to know their own area.  Before I turned to follow the Neversink river, I asked if that led south to Walpack.  A woman who lives literally around the corner from the road didn't know.  When I made the turn and found a rafting company cleaning their life vests, I asked them, they didn't know.  And then, on the edge of Walpack, I asked a woman who ran a local shop, about a road I saw on a map called "main street" in Walpack.  She didn't know it either, and it was the main street of the ghost town.  It was also my turn to start heading back.

But between the start of Sunrise Mountain and the top of High Point, I saw less than 10 cars on the road (zero for the park roads around Sunrise, which include a seven-mile one-way road over the mountain).  And following the river to Walpack, and then to 206, I saw less than 10 cars as well.  20 cars on the road in around 40 miles of bike riding is pretty serene.

JP - maybe it is bigger on twitter than at Interbike but it isn't surprising that inside the thing people are trying to downplay it. Also looking at most of the "mainstream" cycling media that is all over interbike is either ignoring it, or just doesn't think it is newsworthy.

Because when I think about locations that are attempting to play to an

I've never been to Interbike, so I don't know what it is like. Granted I do know there are two things going for Las Vegas for massive trade shows, that you don't get anywhere else except maybe Orlando. Cheap non-stop, or 1 stop flights from anywhere in the country. Thousands of hotel rooms for any budget (just try to get a hotel room in NYC that isn't either by JFK, or just used as a heroin shooting gallery for less than $200 a night).

Las Vegas is my idea of hell, and it is about as cycle friendly as the surface of the sun (you try painting bicycle lanes on exploding hydrogen). If you're going to have a trade show that can aggregate people from all over the country in a place that A) they can all get to and not have to sleep in a van down by the river, Las Vegas is about it for places to do that.

Granted I understand Interbike isn't as bad as CES, but that's like saying Putin's Russian isn't as bad as Stalin's USSR, because now you have penicillin.

I didn't speak with InterBike officials on it.  Most people I spoke with in InterBike didn't have time or the inclination, it seemed, to spend time on the interwebs after leaving their room at 7:30am and not returning until close to midnight--for several days in a row.  I don't think many knew or had time to care.   

The "mainstream" cycling media seems to spend most of their days at IB sprinting from appointment to appointment, looking at what they're told is the coolest, newest stuff, or pretending that stuff is cool and new.  And then many just happen to get wined and dined by people seeking their favor.  If they didn't get the bag or the sock, they might well not have known about it, nor did their contacts, who probably didn't get the sock either, and the contacts were busy selling.  

I went by the SOS booth.  They also had Wonder Woman socks, Biker Chic socks, and a purple/leopard sock thing that matches some socks my daughter has.  And I visited their website.  They have lots and lots of socks for women.  I think they "get" women and the women's market.

I read Batty's rant.  It was worse than what the SOS guy penned.

I finally attached a rack to my old steel race bike and rode into the office today.  By the numbers:

• 12.5 miles door to door v 10.5 miles from former Brooklyn apartment
  
• 10 minutes faster from Queens v Brooklyn (don't have to navigate through the length of Manhattan since office is a few blocks from the QBB)
  
• 30 minutes faster than bus & subway and $5.50 cheaper daily
  
• Same time as LIRR & subway and $25.50 cheaper daily
  
• 90% less stressful than either MTA option
