Kissena has taken a firm stance on COVID protocol and I am proud to be a part of a club that acknowledged that the pandemic is a real thing and we cannot continue business as usual. I'm happy that we are not going to be a group that is complained about by local communities or trash talked on internet forums. If you look on Strava, you can't really find any instances of Kissenas breaking pandemic good practices. I don't think anyone here is the anti-masker-protest-because-i-need-a-haircut-type. Personally, I've made some drastic changes to my life because I have pre-existing conditions. As a result, my comfort with socially distant interactions is probably lower than others. I'm confident that the individuals of the club are taking things seriously as well.
Bruce brings up a lot of good points, all of which are probably correct. I don't think it is fair or productive to go so hard on people who are just asking questions or speculating on a photo of two weenies. No one has said they want to share bottles and cough on the elderly. No one is arguing that we should be doing group rides right now. I think we're all on the same side here.
As restrictions are relaxing, I think it is totally fair for people to ask questions. When is it okay to group ride again? What are the circumstances that would allow the club to do official group rides again? What is the club's "reopening" plan? What are the circumstances that would make YOU personally comfortable with a group ride?
