Yeah Stokes.  Way to go.

I think the people want the van.  I think this is a case of people being forced to work for the government, not the government working for the people.  I think that if we don't get the van, there will be a coup and we will instate a new board, one willing to give each member a van.  Van.

Imagine, if we got the van, we could be those people who get called out in races for having an unauthorised vehicle in the race caravan.  Imagine people!!  That shit actually happens, in our races!  It could be us.

Thankfully we can still be fined for littering on course, failing to sign in, and urinating on the starting line.

Back in high school, my buddy had a three-speed diesel Mercedes 190d (really, it looked more like this), whose passenger seat broke through the rusted-out floor when we hit a huge ditch while doing donuts in a muddy field behind his house. So we did what all reasonably handy high school boys would and ripped it all the way out, installing a toilet seat "in loo" of a proper car seat. Just the toilet seat and lid -- not the porcelain toilet itself, mind you.

We frequently used it for high-speed No. 1, as well as one known No. 2 (at around 80 mph in the Caldecott Tunnel). A shower curtain was installed for privacy and a toilet paper dispenser was mounted to the glove box door.

We could really rack up the USAC fines with a setup like that.

@Jeffrey

I was about to respond with a snarky "cool story bro"...and then I got to the end and realized holy crap that is an AWESOME STORY.
If it becomes relevant, I'll regale y'all with some of my contemporaneous 914, FordVanagon, and Datsun stories. I do like to remain on topic, however, so until then I'll refrain.
We will have elections for a new Board in November. All are encouraged to run for a position.

Really!
For all you BMC lovers....wait????

just popped by ride brooklyn.  they are really trying to sell a CAAD10 black edition with ultegra Di2.  i think they have 56 and 58cm.  sick looking bike IMO.

anyway, retails at $4,100 and they knocked the price down to $,2900.  that's a pretty sweet deal.
if you're looking for a decent beater for commuting, bar-hopping or just meandering around town, check out Brooklyn Vintage Bicycles in Sheepshead Bay:  http://flavors.me/bkvbicycle#d8c/feed.  i stopped by yesterday afternoon and picked up a sweet nishiki single speed.
the nishiki.....i'm wanting a new saddle to replace the fred throne on this one, and i also want to lose the bull horns, but otherwise this is ready to roll.....

nice center pull brake calipers
Nice floor.  I haven't seen anything that clean since I moved.

I've always found Cateye to be solid products. In this world of ala carte purchasing (yeah, we'll give you a mount with your computer, but you have to pay extra for the actual mount that 90% of you want), I think this may be a good option for many:

I am rockin one of those things....It is part of my $300 gps/heart rate/power meter package...along with the power cal & speed/cadence sensor.  I drilled a pothole in Prospect a few weeks back and it fell off.  Fortunately the Yanger drilled it for me going up the climb and shelled himself from the race....and then found my computer while soft pedaling back to the start finish....Thanks again for both Yang !   The Cateye is simple, durable and limited (much like it's owner).  You can't smooth power or configure the display.  You can't really review a ride on the bike either.  But for the money she does a lot (like a hooker during fleet week!...woo I got a million of em !)  The size of the computer is good.  It is a fully sealed unit so there is zero chance that water will kill it.  I know water has been a problem for some Garmins and some Cycleops Jules.  The GPS on the unit is accurate.  It synch's right up with ant + speed/cadence and my power cal.  It has ONE button...which is great for my "stupid is as stupid does sensibility".  You can upload direct to Strava or download the ride as a .fit file.  The magic happens after you transfer your stuff to your computer.  I would like to have instant ride avg's on the head unit...but life is a series of compromises and adjustments and for the $$$ it is a great compromise.  "Once again my thoughts turn...to Jen-knee.   Yacks
jOUles...
you are one bad eye away from being Cycleops Jules !!!

Our Nutcracker.
Garmin Edge 800  at clevertraining for $279.99.  That's a great price for this computer.  I haven't purchased through them before, but thought this price was worth mentioning.  I'm sure they'll start to go on sale at other sites as the 810 replaces them.

This reminds me of when chips stopped using "trans fats" and you know what, the damn chips still tasted delicious. And I'm like "F-YOU!" chip maker, you were putting shit into my junk food that I didn't even need all these years?

PT manager Jesse B. is a former teammate of mine, and a really stand-up guy, but I'd like to give him a $510 dope slap about now!
whooo....someone is getting their market share threatened by Stages....sorry power tap......but I have 3 sets of wheels and I use them all....BUT I am still enjoying your Powercal.
Powertap has a broken model. They'll come out with a crank based meter within 12 months, I predict
