Thanks Patrick! Flattered and happy to be nominated for VP and to serve this wonderful club of ours. I've been a member since 2013 and proud of KCC's open-to-all, progressive and independent ethos. I've previously served as Treasurer in 2014 and 2015 and helped reorganize the accounting structure among other things.
I'm looking forward to gaining your confidence and vote as VP in 2022.
Cheers and excelsior!
Tomorrow morning, look out for emails from ElectionBuddy. The election will be open until midnight Monday.
I encourage all nominees to write a little something about themselves (if you haven't done so already) to help members cast their votes. This is especially true for those who positions who have more than one person running.
Nominations for the 2023 Board are officially open! Nominate your friends or nominate yourself, get involved with helping guide the club!
Also would like to nominate @PatrickGrehan for sponsorship. He landed the plane with the Hilltop sponsorship and has been an invaluable asset to the board and club for many many years!
StephenAschkenes said:Nominating @AlexanderHatter for membership Director. He’s been with the club for a while now and is a familiar face. I think his outgoing and friendly nature would be a great fit for such a public facing role especially because joining a new member ride can often be intimidating for prospective members.
Thank you @StephenAschkenes for the nomination, I am happy to accept them and am looking forward to the possibility of serving as the Membership Director.
A little about me.
I’ve been riding bikes since I built my first single-speed in the flatlands of Columbus, Ohio. In College, I accepted geared bikes into my life during a stint in my collegiate Triathlon Club, after competing in a few Triathlons I realized I could just skip swimming and focus on biking and running. I've been in New York for going on four years and joined The Club in 2021.
For my day job, I am a Commercial Casualty Insurance Underwriter which is a blend of financial analysis and developing industry relations. Given my experience, I feel like I am prepared to take on the responsibilities of this position, and have a few ideas I would like to explore with the board. I'm reaching out to the members of the current board and am happy to share my ideas once they're all a little polished up and I've got the backstory on how past similar endeavors have gone.
That’s it! Feel free to DM me on Slack or reach out should you have any questions or concerns!
Cheers,
Alexander Hatter

Many of you know me but for those who don't, I was born and raised in the NYC and live out in Sunnyside. I joined the club about 2 years ago and last year I was able to serve as tech director. As Tech Director, I was able to bring some great changes such as some revamped new member processes and a much needed update to the website.
We do have some other candidates who are interested in the tech director role and I thought it was a good opportunity to let someone else take that role but move into a position where I could continue to have a positive effect on the club. I know there is more I can give to the club and more that we as a club can accomplish. I'd like to focus especially on recruitment and ensure we have a healthy pipeline of new members interested in joining the club. We've got some great candidates, both new and old, who I know will be a great team to work together.
Feel free to DM me or reach out if anyone has any questions!
Hello! I accept the nomination, and thank you for thinking of me.PatrickGrehan said:Nominating @RichardKaufmann for Secretary. Exciting to have some new member energy joining the board
I started cycling about seven years ago following a motorcycle accident after which I needed a low impact sport for recovery. But I was mostly noodling around until the pandemic/after I joined the club in 2021.
I’m happy to help the club however I can, and this seems like a great way to get further involved and support the whole group.
I nominate @greghoge and @eloy for Development director. May the best candidate win!
I joined Kissena when I moved to New York in 2014. It was one of the first communities I joined, and over the years I've had such great experiences and made enduring friendships though the club. I'd love to have the opportunity to give something back and accept the nomination in that spirit.
A brief bio for those I haven't met. I'm originally from Ireland, and now live in Clinton Hill. I've spent my career in the tech world. For my first couple years of Kissena membership I was focused on road racing in the parks and upstate. More recently it's been gravel riding/racing and some casual MTB in the spirit of exploring and mixing things up.
The "online" part of the club has always been an important element of membership and developing the club (doubly so since 2020 for obvious reasons.) I'd be excited to build on the fantastic work that Stephen and previous tech directors have done.
Thanks for reading, and of course please DM me with any questions!
As most of you know, I am the 2022 development director, and there's plenty to do and grow here. From clinics (handling, crits, cyclocross) to those of you on your journey to your first race, century, a new discipline, etc..., let's do it!
This position should continue to work closely with membership, and sponsorship, including our partnership with Tim Cusick and Velocious.
Worth mention I've been on the board for several years, a Kissena member since 2003 (WTF?!?!), started and usually lead Friday's look sharp rides, and represent Kissena and cycling interests in the Prospect Park Alliance Community Committee. Lived in Park Slope since 2001, just joined the running PPTC (altho running is the worst) and currently part of the product team at a small fintech start up, Guideline.
Look forward to running against Greg. BTW, the role of race captain, and even ride captain, is something that has come up in the past few seasons, so regardless of who ends as director, there should be plenty to do! LFG!
Just realized Patrick had already been nominated. Double the Sponsorship!

NOTE: If you are planning on running and don't see your name, let us know by Thursday Jan 19th. If you aren't planning on running and your name is on the list, also let us know by Thursday Jan 19th. Thanks!
Your participation matters. Note that the Development role is being contested by Eloy and Greg. Either would make a good contribution to the club. Best of luck to both!
I hope to get the opportunity to make rider development and riding skills a major theme with our group rides. I want provide the more rides and skills clinics to give all members (new and old) the confidence and excitement to reach their potential on a bike.
I do digital marketing in my day job and have led social media campaigns for companies, political candidates and bands.
I just finished my first racing season with Kissena, focusing mostly on flat crits and I’m excited for more in 2023. I’m based in Sunset Park.
This really derails my plans to follow global trends and hideout in Florida to contest the election results.AdamYaffe said:Sorry for late notice here but I’m bowing out to let Richard be sole secretary nominee. Go Rich!
