I am still high from all the ice creeeeeeeaaaaaaaaam

(also, the churn bike had cantis!)
Nice seeing so many friendly faces last night! I don't think anyone left hungry or thirsty, which was my goal.

JP, we'll have to wait for Eloy to develop the roll of film from his Leica for photographic evidence--this is Brooklyn, after all ;)

It was probably hard to hear at various points of the evening, but here is the mix that was played for anyone looking for a Friday soundtrack.

See y'all on the road!
Great to see everyone last night and to chat about work, life, and 2015 cycling goals.  I'm looking forward to getting out on the road again with you, training and racing as a team.  Get togethers like that help fire me back up.

Thanks for the food and drink.  I think Sixpoint as a sponsor is fantastic and we should help convince them to sponsor other teams so those guys miss their training rides the next day, too.

Kayt,
     No daugerreotypes?

Maybe I could have gone.  Helped make rice krispie treats, restrung a guitar, cleaned, and finally saw Obama on Colbert around the time Yacks checked in.

Reaching out like a Southern Baptist Minister here... We're hastily planning the yearly social and need your help.

We need:
Venue Locaterer. Sixpoint will help if we have a venue with their brews on tap. Brooklyn or Manhattan, Brooklyn preferred.

Food. Organise catering for 40 or so people or venue that serves food. Food and beverage ride people?

The Show. A person to sort simple AV (a mic, a video projector). A person to sort all through all 5 of those awesome podium photos (5) and make a slide show that can run in background (Actually I can do that). A person to shortlist members deserving recognition for: Volunteering, worst crash injury/best X-ray (Rick?), biggest improvement, podium monster, maple-bacon donut eater, etc.
Some fun prizes (framed photos, Redbeard swag, KCC caps).

Photographer. Someone to take a few snaps or set up a backdrop.

Format. Ideas/suggestions/themes to improve the concept to for max enjoyment and participation.

Invite. Me!

The club has a budget [ed.] (we've generally tried to keep tickets in the $25-$50 dollar range)

We don't have to boil the ocean on this one. The emphasis is on our all-too-rare 2015 hanging out together time. I can meet up for beer to kick things off this week.

I'd love to help, @JohnMalcolmson !

Thanks Jill!

To all you other club members, this club runs on volunteerism juice. We're all bandwidth challenged, at the very least give us your 5 cents worth — ideas for improvement, suggestions re format, venue etc... all much appreciated. We had a low turnout last year (due in large part to it being December 12), we'd like to make it happen end of this month if poss.

i'm happy to help out in any way that i can
I have a projector but it's literally from the year 2000. If it was a star wars droid, it would be this reject one, in the back corner of the Sandcrawler.

That said, I watch movies on it all the time, so I know how to hook it up to a computer and make it show the movie-picture-shows. I can bring it, laptop & cords, if needed. I'm happy to flip though images. I don't have a mic or audio equipment.
Awesome. I'll bring my iphone, then I think we're all set.
I know one of the owners of this place

http://www.crownvicbar.com/
And they serve sixpoint! Nice.
@JohnMalcolmson
If you had to guess, how many people ?
I would guess 30-50 members and +1's
John - I have a friend that owns a couple bars in mid-town that have private rooms with bars. We talked about it a bit on the food ride yesterday, my wife volunteered to help if needed (she's done a hefty bit of event planning) I'll PM you with details

Allez! Purchase tickets now: http://bit.ly/1kWexM6

Any idea thrown around was to hold a "Flea market" at the year end party ,
bring along surplus clothing ,misc parts , stuff you have lying around
The money raised would be donated to the Star Track youth cycling program at the Kissena velodrome
Let me know if you think this is a good idea and would like to participate so we can start to organize
All
just reaching out again on the flea market idea , clear some space at home , raise some money for a good cause,
show of hands please ,
Don't wait until last minute to purchase your tickets for the party!

I don't understand where the money would come from.
you would bring in (donate),say a tire , put in on a table , if one of your team mates would like to buy the tire , he would put $10 or water ever he thinks is a fair price for the tire in a ,hopefully, big jar , at the end of the night we collect the money and get it to velodrome at some time
Im coming!!

It sounds like a fine idea. I like the honor system. Let's all do it! Mark, you're in charge of the jar.
do we need to buy a ticket for the party online or can we bring the moola ($30/pp) to  Crown Vic and pay at the door?
Scott, if you could buy a ticket in advance it'd be greatly appreciated... Allows us to estimate food, drink and number of kazoos to buy.

For the party here are some possible categories:

Best volunteer

Most improved rider

Best in-race quote (like the legendary "sorry I can't pull I'm fat")

Best photo

Best teammate/leader-outer/domestique

Winningest (Does Sean have our only W this year?)

Best Race Report (by Marc Bertucco)

Best Excuse For Not Showing Up At A Ride Or A Race

Most Flats

Best Trackie

Best CXer

Scariest X-ray

Am I missing a category?

Most flats is not even a fair fight.
I lost count of how many flat tubulars I had i Prospect this yesr
I had flats at Battenkill and in every Prospect Park races this year.

Does flat FTP improvement count?
