Year End Party
Kayt,Kayt Mathers said:Nice seeing so many friendly faces last night! I don't think anyone left hungry or thirsty, which was my goal.JP, we'll have to wait for Eloy to develop the roll of film from his Leica for photographic evidence--this is Brooklyn, after allIt was probably hard to hear at various points of the evening, but here is the mix that was played for anyone looking for a Friday soundtrack.See y'all on the road!
Reaching out like a Southern Baptist Minister here... We're hastily planning the yearly social and need your help.
We need:
Venue Locaterer. Sixpoint will help if we have a venue with their brews on tap. Brooklyn or Manhattan, Brooklyn preferred.
Food. Organise catering for 40 or so people or venue that serves food. Food and beverage ride people?
The Show. A person to sort simple AV (a mic, a video projector). A person to sort all through all 5 of those awesome podium photos (5) and make a slide show that can run in background (Actually I can do that). A person to shortlist members deserving recognition for: Volunteering, worst crash injury/best X-ray (Rick?), biggest improvement, podium monster, maple-bacon donut eater, etc.
Some fun prizes (framed photos, Redbeard swag, KCC caps).
Photographer. Someone to take a few snaps or set up a backdrop.
Format. Ideas/suggestions/themes to improve the concept to for max enjoyment and participation.
Invite. Me!
The club has a budget [ed.] (we've generally tried to keep tickets in the $25-$50 dollar range)
We don't have to boil the ocean on this one. The emphasis is on our all-too-rare 2015 hanging out together time. I can meet up for beer to kick things off this week.

Thanks Jill!
To all you other club members, this club runs on volunteerism juice. We're all bandwidth challenged, at the very least give us your 5 cents worth — ideas for improvement, suggestions re format, venue etc... all much appreciated. We had a low turnout last year (due in large part to it being December 12), we'd like to make it happen end of this month if poss.

That said, I watch movies on it all the time, so I know how to hook it up to a computer and make it show the movie-picture-shows. I can bring it, laptop & cords, if needed. I'm happy to flip though images. I don't have a mic or audio equipment.
If you had to guess, how many people ?
bring along surplus clothing ,misc parts , stuff you have lying around
The money raised would be donated to the Star Track youth cycling program at the Kissena velodrome
Let me know if you think this is a good idea and would like to participate so we can start to organize
just reaching out again on the flea market idea , clear some space at home , raise some money for a good cause,
show of hands please ,
I don't understand where the money would come from.Mark Taylor said:All

It sounds like a fine idea. I like the honor system. Let's all do it! Mark, you're in charge of the jar.Mark Taylor said:you would bring in (donate),say a tire , put in on a table , if one of your team mates would like to buy the tire , he would put $10 or water ever he thinks is a fair price for the tire in a ,hopefully, big jar , at the end of the night we collect the money and get it to velodrome at some time
