Made a pleasant discovery today.
ProGold degreaser did an awesome job of cleaning my white handlebar tape. I've previously had some success with Dawn blue dish detergent, but the ProGold blew it away. The tape practically looks new.
Maybe other degreasers would work as well. Just thought I would share.

I was just wondering this tonight as I was washing my bike with it's white tape that after 7 races in 10 days, isn't as shiny white anymore. I got a can of the stuff form a rep at Adam Myerson's Cross race in Northampton MA last fall. Great stuff. I use fantastic with bleach on my gatorskins dsp white tape. I wipe it with a cloth towel...holding each end of the rag and sort of going back and forth around the bar...This tape tends to turn yellowish fairly quickly...

So if these new Cannondale bikes are all disk, does that mean one could effectively race a CAAD10 as a cross bike?

No. unless you can find 27m cross tires that will fit in that frame.

@jesselash Flip your question around and you may be onto something: a CAADX with disc road wheels might make for a good road race bike. However, I'm not sure about weight and geometry. Probably has a longer wheelbase

I doubt that all Cannondales will be all disk except for cross.

no, there will be 2 models of caad10 discs, the rest are rim brake.
Having a caadX, I would deem it an acceptable road bike, not something I'd ideally race on. They're a bit porky, knocking on 21-22 lbs, and slack geo.

I have the 2013 caadx 105, and with stock wheels it was tipping in at 21 lbs. I swapped the wheels with easton ea70s and shaved a couple of lbs.

Stages meter and water...not the best of friends. After riding in what has been described as a tropical storm for an hour yesterday, the power went Kaput-ski again. Now rain is not a problem...but sheet rain with 9 inch puddles spraying water, under pressure into the crank arm is. In hindsight I should have taken the cover off the meter overnight, taken the battery out and let it air out. For $1 I put in a new cr2032 battery and all was well again. My cycleops powercal hr strap also pooped the proverbial bed yesterday in that rain...Ditto on the taking the cover off-battery out-let it air dry sequence. It also booted right up with a new cr2032 battery. If you are going to use the stages for really shitty cross conditions...water will likely find a way and corrupt your battery. Or it won't...hard to tell. If you ride a cross race during tropical storm conditions...it will likely crap out on you.
Hope this helps anybody...or maybe it won't.

Sorry to hear about that Yacks. I'd like to point out that I raced my Stages yesterday at Floyd during Dash for Cash. It was rainy, sandy, silty, and an overall personal embarrassment, but I did it... and I rode home in the slop. I don't think it gets much worse than that. It trashed my bike, but the stages was alright. It booted up no problem for the group ride this morning and chugged away without issue.
Just thought I'd share. Maybe QC is an issue?

The Stages drained a battery again today...perhaps there was water still in the unit ? I will take the cover off for the night and see what's up. If it drains another battery...it goes back for a warranty

OK - I have a 10 cent mystery for ya'll. I don't have the answer yet.
So I recently started hearing the sound of something loose rolling around in my rear wheel. I was nervous it was a spoke nipple or something slipped through. The wheel seemed totally fine so I ignored it for a few weeks. Typical of me.
I took the tire off today and couldn't find anything out of place or loose. No parts, nada.
Then I re-inflated the tube (which was patched before I put it in the wheel) and found out that loose noise was coming from inside the tube. WTF? I can feel something loose in there, it feels medium soft-ish but i can't really tell what it is.
Any guesses as to what it is? I'm inclined to just cut open the tube to figure out what it is but ya know, I'm cheap like that and would rather keep it as a spare.

I wonder if Yacks got a "new/old stock" power meter before they worked out the rain problem? Wasn't that a common complaint with the older models?

I've heard that all Stages power meters are made to order, no not sure about the NOS hypothesis.
