Hey Reiners, you hear that tapping noise on the ceiling?

Marc, in your case we're not saying "get a more expensive one" we're saying "get one made in this decade", and in the case of Yacks "we get it, you're strong, now can you stop bending stuff just to show us how strong."

Not so much this decade.  But one that works.  upgrade your cross rig's brakes and you're most of the way there.  Upgrade your road bike to 6800, move the 6700 to  your Kona, and you've even closer.

I'm having issues when swapping between a Zipp rear wheel and a Neuvation rear wheel , the shifting is off , so much so that the chain got stuck between the 11t cog and the frame during Saturdays race , is there a fix for this ,
both wheel run campy 11 speed , one is 12-25 on the other is 11-27
I'm trying to avoid adjusting the derailleur each time i use the different
Mark you are in a hopeless situation...the wheels will never comply with your shifting demands...fortunately, I'm willing to take that brand new Neuvation carbon clincher wheelset off your hands....at bluebook value.
Yacks
Mark, don't give Yacks those wheels, he will destroy them with his highly toxic sweat causing the carbon to delaminate, or will crush it by gripping the brakes so hard that the sidewalls of the rim cave in.
True...I poured a cup of my sweat on this chap...

The answer is get rid of Campy.
To quote Chris,"Ouch babe."
The answer is get rid of Campy.
Its not really,

In fact for the first time in decades now is a great time to get Campagnolo. Yes the EUR rate helps, but the main reason is that the cassette spacing on 11 speed Campagnolo and Shimano (and by extension SRAM) are all 100% compatible. So if you need to borrow wheels before or during a race you can just take any wheel your shifting will be no worse.
So , i tried a spacer , no luck , could get the last cog to fit on the cassette,
I emailed John Neugent , and he has new campy bodies that are 49.1mm long instead of 48.7mm , hes shipping today , i hope this helps
Well it would appear he recognised that he has a problem and he has taken action to rectify it.
Any Garmin experts around that could help a GPS newb out or maybe point me in the direction of the best forum thread for that stuff? Tried doing a search but haven't yet gone digging back through the 93 pages of posts here.

I just dove headfirst and ordered an Edge 1000 from Redbeard. Going to be touring this fall and I wanted mapping/routing. Not sure if I coulda/shoulda gone with new 520 but the 1000's big touchscreen should be nice.

In the meantime, anyone willing to offer shortcuts or how tos for:

-useful screen set ups or best/common data layouts
-getting a set of intervals loaded for training (wanted to try and get started with a plan for CX)
-best sources/folks around NYC from which to source awesome GPS routes/rides

Thanks!

-useful screen set ups or best/common data layouts

Totally personal, make your own, I think less is more, but some people love to see it all. I have a few screens on my 500. But these are the 3 core ones:

- Screen one: Speed, Total Time, Total Distance, Time of day. This is my basic ride screen.

- Screen two: Lap Power, Lap Time, Speed. Used for intervals. Pretty obvious how it works.

- Screen three: Speed, Lap Time, Lap Distance. Used during races, where the race is a garmin *lap*.

Other data, like heart rate and cadence I only look at after, once downloaded.

You do this in the garmin connect website. The ui is kinda self explanatory.

I usually set up warm up and rest to end manually when I hit lap. So for example for a workout that calls 15 minutes warmup, and then 2x2x2 with 5 min in between. The warmup and 5 minutes in between will end when I hit lap (which means they might be a little more or less than the dictated time) this can be configured when you create the workout.

Starting or ending a workout mid ride will stop your timer. Annoying, but simply starting the timer again fixes it. Or simply, make the workout include the full the ride.

New York is fairly straight ahead as there are like 2 routes ;) in any case, you can draw routes directly in the Garmin Connect website.

Ride with GPS http://ridewithgps.com/ is probably better to draw routes, and will provide turn my turn directions. Getting them from their site to your garmin (should be, but it) wont be trivial.

If you are not familiar with NYC routes, stalk experienced riders in Strava or take a peak at strava heatmaps http://labs.strava.com/heatmap/

Hope this helps, cheers!

My offer stands

Sprinting on a titanium frame is an oxymoron...there I said it

So scarred for the riders not wearing helmets. I can't believe it was 2002 and they still didn't have to wear lids?!?!
I have some experience sprinting on both titanium and aluminum...

On aluminum...I feel some wheel flex....On titanium my bottom bracket looked like this

Tate Labs came through
Who's taking these bets on how long before Chris destroys this one?

I give the new barfly a max of 10 weeks.

Also Yacks, what were you doing sprinting on the hoods?
Dan...I feared for the safety of my fellow competitors...You see had I been in the drops, putting down 1300 watts on my Ti bike...the gyrscopic affect would have knocked those guys over like bowling pins.

For all you electronic shifting lovers....Go ask Ben King how he feels about his Di2 group after dropping his chain TWICE in the tour of Utah today...the second time on a descent going 50mph while in the break..it was painful watching him watch the other 6 guys slowly disappear down the hill...He was reaching down and trying to pull a tangled chain free while going 50mph...so crazy, even Yack's was blushing
he managed to follow the neutral support moto back to the break
I think you mean his poorly setup Di2. I think Garmin use Cannondale cranksets. In which case the chainrings might be at fault. Shimano's rings these days are ridiculously stiff.
Well either his mechanic or his chainrings are getting a kick in the junk after this stage.
My god...they are doing the "pedaling super-tuck" now

The Hollowgram cranks are stiffer than DA9000.  I have a hard time believing the issue is King flexing the rings too much.  I'd have an easier time believing the issue is alignment first and then tooth profile.

It could be poorly set up. Maybe. But by far, DI2 seems to suffer from pretty crappy failures on the front chainrings -- perhaps it doesn't fail much, but this is certain: once DI2 fails in the front, the rider is f*cked, race over.
