Stages Power Meter = Ordered through Ride Brooklyn. There is no room for them to offer a deep discount for club members. 5% was all they could do...which means the meter is actually more expensive than ordering it online, due to sales tax and shipping.... I want to patronize a team sponsor though and if I have trouble with the meter, I have a shop on my side. Now the waiting is the hardest part....don't know what the back order is but fortunately I ride Sram Rival and not many people that can afford a meter want to be seen with Rival on their bikes. I don't care if it says "donkey spam"....as long as I'm getting consistent power #'s.

We've discussed saddle selection before. This is the most in-depth examination I've read online. It not only references assometers, but also discusses how you can make a home version. And discusses the difficulty of figuring out a saddle for the tri' position.

Open ended questions aren't the easiest to answer. I will tell you that the device seemed ok for walking, so-so for running, and pretty useless for the effort levels any one in this club is used to. the sleep thing was ok. Seemed like the biggest value was for sedentary people who needed just to walk around more--it coudl work well if they'd log their food.
The lashes I prefer to give on the bike.

since we're on the topic of stages power meters. I have a SRAM Force crank on my road bike and FSA gossamer (I think) on the CX bike. Both are BB30. Could I buy either the stages FSA crank arm or the Cannondale hollowgram crank arm and put it on both bikes so long as I didn't mind the frankenbike look? (swapping the crankarm from one bike to the other)

This is precisely what I am planning to do and I don't see why not. I will have to swap the whole crankset because you can't mix between one crank arm and another. That is the essence of my question, why can't you mix crank arms if the BB format is the same? Craig, you nailed it. Spindles and arm attachment mechanisms are different between different brands.

From preliminary investigations, it looks to me that at least SRAM and FSA use the Cannondale BB30 splines. I just looked up images of splines for those cranks and BB30. I haven't found a paper documenting it though. The Specialized BB30 crank seems to use a Hirth joint like Campy.
The basic idea you're pretty correct about. Shimano locked up lots of patents on their Octalink design and so the ISIS standard was created to be given away. When Shimano went to thru-axle, they locked up some more patents. FSA's attachment is different as is SRAMs as is Campy's.
If they are the same, it's possible they are interchangeable, though they may have differend Q-factors. I don't know if that's specified in the free standard.

the standard is only for the spacing of the bearings and spindle diameter. looks like it doesn't specify how the cranks screw onto each other or long the spindle is. http://www.bb30standard.com/wp-content/uploads//2012/04/bb30standard_new.pdf
maybe i'll try to put an FSA crank from my gf's bike onto my SRAM S500 cranks tonight and let you folks know how it goes.

Take a look at the splines, measure the tooth profiles with a caliper, and place on, gently, by hand.
This is also something someone should know. I bet if you called FSA, they would tell you. But that would be too easy.

Craig, I'll make the attempt sometime soon for your powermeter-buying edification. But I doubt it will prove much because her bike has the entry-level FSA cranks and I bet yours are different.
