Volunteer at Kissena Races

Greetings Kissena Member,

This season, Charlie Issendorf, our road race director, will be promoting over 35 races. 13 of those races will be in two series at Prospect Park - The L&C Cup and the R&A Series.

These races require significant volunteer efforts to make them a success. As you know, we are a volunteer run club, and we need you to pitch in to make these races a success.

After reading the job descriptions, please sign up for a shift or three through this link.

Registration Volunteer:

Arrive at Prospect Park by 5:15AM. Enjoy your coffee while checking USAC licenses and registering riders for the race. Once registration is closed, you can hop on your bike and race. If you do this job, you race for free.

Marshal Captain:

Arrive at Prospect Park by 6:00 AM. Get acquainted with the marshals and take note of their positions in the park. Once races start, ride slowly around the park, checking on the course marshals and making sure everyone has what they need. Serve as a communication link with Charlie I. Once the race is finished, let the marshals know they are done and return to the start finish. If you do this job, you race another race for free.

KOM Official

Keep score during the KOM competitions. This is a great way to see the races. Ideally, this is one person who commits to all races, but we can possibly split it between two folks. If you do this job, you get paid $70 per race. If you are interested in this position, please email Charlie I directly cibike@aol.com , then sign up on the sheet.

Motorcycle Pacers

Hey Folks,

I'd be willing to bet we will end up having 30 folks participate in races across the three fields this Saturday. But we only have 2 people willing to help out with registration so far. Please pitch in. You can help with registration and still race.

Also - we are still looking for a marshal captain. The marshal captain can not race but will receive a free race in the future.

We still need a KOM official!!!!!! At this point, if you're only available for one week we'll take it.

This might even be a good job for a responsible teenager or non-bike racer. Please contact Charlie I if you have any leads.

Charlie emailed me about doing KOM this Saturday, but I told him you'd signed up for the whole series. Then he mentioned you've also signed up to race cat 5, so he wants me to do it.

Just wanna clarify that you're racing and not doing KOM officiating. If you'd rather do KOM instead of race, just let me know and I'll tell him, it doesn't matter to me.

I messaged you earlier in the day via the forum.

I'm not racing on Saturday and I told Charlie as much when I emailed him ten days ago re the KOM duties. I'd signed up for the 5's a long time ago

If you want to do it Saturday that's fine be me. That makes sense too as you've demonstrated that you have the "right stuff" and Charlie has confidence in you. If you want to be the go to guy for the whole series, I'm fine with that too. I can always do registration or marshaling for some of the other races

We were debating on whether to throw in a special prime KOM for Viagra or Geritol, but got distracted with chocolate croissants and coffee while you guys were slaving away.
