This doesn't seem to be particularly new, but is definitely useful if you have a newer model Garmin -- It seems you can add custom text to the startup screen. Others in the past have suggested writing your name in Sharpie on the back of the device or adding a .txt file with contact info in case it's lost, but this seems like another awesome option.

I was hoping to read something about the aero tail on the fork tips. I don't see how that is structural in any way.

I can see the gripe regarding the 3D printed extensions. However, I was expecting them to be larger and shield his arms a bit.

I have a hard time believing the idea that 3d printed parts are intrinsically illegal because they aren't "off the shelf." Mostly because 3d printers are now "off the shelf."

Astana had a great race didn’t they? Six riders in the top 25, and with guys that I’ve not seen that high up on a GC list before. They sure rode out of their skins! I’ve said it before but it needs stating again — especially after how they dominated the Giro in the mountains — but it amazes me (and many of the other guys in the peloton) that Astana still has a WorldTour Licence.

by that logic, all frames are off the shelf because all tools are technically off the shelf.

Yeah, I don't get this train of thought either.

Now that 3D printers are available, then the "commercially available" rule (whether this is a good rule is another discussion) should not apply?

Why should a 3D printer get a special exception, and not some master craftsman making one-off custom parts in his garage. I mean, technically speaking, if I could find the guy and pay him enough money, he would make me or anyone some custom aerobars or a custom frame?

I mean, I guess now if Wiggo's team releases the plans/programs (or whatever it is you call it) for those bars, so anyone with enough money and access to the printer and materials could print those bars up themselves?

In general I find most cycling rules sufficiently vague to allow a great deal of interpretation between the margins.

It turns out that Gilbert not only finished, but won two stages of the Giro and finished second in the points competition with a fractured tibia. And even though he was doing ok at Suisse, pulls out because of the injury and is not going to race the Tour.

All this after Gilbert publicly complained about being in the dark as to his status for the tour squad.

Not strange at all.
