Giro Del Cielo

For those that care, note that the inclusion of individual races nullifies the GC based upgrade points you would get for doing well in all three.
I think I'm doing the TT and the crit and then staying home to race L&C on Sunday.
I just signed up. Anyone want to share a ride for the TT and the crit?

Not looking to spend the night - just drive up and back same day. Did it last year, it was fine.
Shit did I just sign up for a race that no one is going to? (or, driving to, anyway)
Hi, sorry for the newb question here.
I'd like to do this race. (Women's Cat 4).
I think it's trainable from Port Jervis in a pinch, though a ride would be appreciated. (I could contribute to gas/tolls/accomodation costs.)
But I don't have a license, and it doesn't say they will offer day of licenses.
Would there be time for me to get a license?

You can buy an annual racing license online and I believe you can print out a temp one or use their smart phone apps pretty much immediately.
just reg'd for the 4/5 GC, so nervous. I got room in my car for maybe 2 extra people and their bicycles. maybe more if my damn car rack comes in on time!

I also plan on doing the H2H race #4 at 9:00 am in Morristown and getting back  in time for the road race on Sunday afternoon.

not sure about lodging for the weekend yet but down to share a room with anybody.
I'm definitely down to ride and cost share, Nelson (or anyone else).

Tricky part for me though is I'm not doing the over nighter.

There's really no need - we went up and back last year and it was fine. And I'm likely not doing Sunday.
Nelson, nothing to worry about. If you can race in spark you can do these races. All pretty friendly, fun courses... Though the rr is pretty boring.
@Erica, if you haven't done so already, I would highly recommend getting the annual license vs. 1-day license.

Just registered for the W4 GC, yippee!

Registered! This will be my first race as a Kissena.

In case you're wondering, the cotton buds jammed up the nostrils are soaked in Olbas Oil to the clear airways.

I'm in for the Cat 3 RR. I'm going up on Sunday morning and can take a couple of people. I need to come back straight after my 9:30am race though.

Ok this is my final plea for a ride to this race. I can't justify a solo car rental for what is basically a training race. If I don't find a ride I'm out $80 in fees but that's better than $80 +$100 or more for car and gas. I can't spend the night, BTW
Resbros?
Some highlights from my vantage point...

Jeff A hit the TT hard and got 11th in the 4/5 field. Konrad got dick spot in the 3s and got 6th. I busted my hump for my first ever TT and got like 27th, 16:57. Best part was passing 3 guys who started earlier, but everything about it was torture. I have to listen to Mike P and work on my threshold...

Erika was hanging tough with her converted cross bike and disintegrating shoes in the women's 3 field. Kayt raced super smart in the women's 4, and was positioned great throughout, but just missed the winning split at the very end. Possible top 10 though? Konrad was positioned awesome coming down the final stretch but think got boxed out of the sprint.

4/5 race I really wanted to capitalize on Jeff's points in the TT. I think he was positioned towards the back where the riders got very sketchy so couldn't really move up. Niall and Nelson did an awesome job up front and kept the pace high on the last 2k. I was positioned really well, 4th wheel, but Edmund Liang and some other guys started the sprint on the downhill and streaked away for podium spots. I barely jumped on and got 6th, dick spot, just out of the money. Damn.

Dunno about GC standings (especially after the crit primes). Jeff A has best chances tomorrow in the 4/5 so we shall see what we can do for him.
... and?
4/5 race ended with an unsafe field sprint, and I got "boxed out" for 22nd so no GC points. Just the 10 points from yesterday which was good for 15th overall. Bummer. Niall and Nelson were awesome in bringing and keeping me up front the entire race. It was very hard to move up if you drifted too far back which is what happened to Jeff A I think. All in all a fun time and a good learning experience.
Some choice Sergio photos, but there are tons more here.

Looks like only Jeff Condon is pre reg'd for this race this year. Go out and crush it, and then tell us all about it!
My schedule changed so I actually didn't do this one.
Anyone up for this one? I'm going to do the Masters and would love some teammates. They've got a few different women's races too.

Hey @Jeff Condon, are you staying the weekend out there or driving back and forth from NYC each day?

I'm was planning to drive  out each day. Still figuring my plans though.
@Jeff Condon

How did it go?  Pics, results, or it didn't happen.
Is anyone thinking of doing this this year?  Is it worth staying overnight?
