Have you seen the kit the EF will be wearing for the Giro?

What are your thoughts?

We all know this kit doesn't hold a candle to Carreras in terms of hitting the ugly spectrum so hard it's amazing.

Definitely liking the color way on the bikes

I’ve been having some quality control issues with my team kit recently, most notably the teeth of the zippers on several different jerseys have broken or will open from the bottom after I have fully zipped up (and then it takes some effort to get the slider back down to the bottom).  Also been having some issues with back pockets ripping.  Curious if anyone has had similar issues, and if so, any suggestions how to repair and/or whether this has been brought up to Champion. Thanks.

I've had a pocket rip after second use

I've sent kit back in the past for either replacement or refund. While this stuff isn't designed to last forever, a zipper breaking or pocket ripping within a few uses does not seem appropriate.

Replacing zippers is notoriously tricky - even more so for spandex type fabrics. That said, NYC has some amazing tailors.

small story that makes me believe in customer service again:

I have a pair of the Rapha Pro Team Crit Bibs that I got in August. They somehow ripped just off to the side of the chamois, but not at the seam. I submitted a repair request to Rapha and they told me there's no warranty, they can't be repaired, gave me a voucher for minimal amounts to replace them and basically told me better luck with the next pair. I was pretty peeved and ready to write Rapha off entirely, but decided to give it one last effort and call their customer service line.

I ended up getting connected to the nicest guy. We ended up shooting the shit for a minutes talking about fall riding in the northeast and the giro. He took a look at the pictures I submitted, confirmed that it clearly was a product defect and offered to replace them or refund me, and my replacement bibs have already shipped. So shout out to that guy (I unfortunately forgot to get his name) and if you ever have a problem with Rapha kit, call their number and keep the fingers crossed you get connected with him.

Last weekend I wore my Rapha cargo tights for the first time this year. Previously on this thread I had queried the sartorial impact of cargo type bibs/tights. Some thoughts;

- they are very warm 
- the pockets are very useful
- you don't feel restricted/heavy with loaded pockets
- very easy access on the bike v round the back pockets

Significant downside? The price. 

However if you are semi-off road and wanting to carry extra's or want to not wear a traditional top then these are a solid choice. Wonder if anyone else in the market will be making similar (cheaper) products, I imagine the answer is yes based on the direction of travel in the industry...

I got a pair of these Decathlon bibs this summer. They match the Kissena kit pretty well and the fit is pretty good too, though definitely not as nice as the mid tier CS stuff. The pockets are good enough for a few gels. Def wouldn't stash my vintage 35mm cam in there. If it's something you think you'll use, $70 isn't too bad.

Decathlon is an Aladdin's cave of sport/outdoors. 

I recently took an old pair of Amazon special bibs and an even older pair of running compression shorts and sewed a rectangle of compression short material onto the back of the bibs. Now I've got 3 pockets in jersey configuration but I don't have to wear a jersey. If you or an acquaintance has any minor sewing skill and you've got the material it's a super nice and cheap alternative!

Okay so answer me this: What if your socks are just really really tall, you know like stockings. And they go allllll the way up to your bib shorts. Do they go over your bib shorts or under your bib shorts????

I think it's much better than in year's past. Overall I think you have to work pretty damn hard to make a pro athlete look bad in a skinsuit.
