I could be doing the mental leg work for them, but I think the compliance they're referring to is the culture of road cycling that makes every team kit look pretty similar. EF has definitely tried some things with their jerseys to do something different and (like right now lol) have people talking about what they're doing. 

I think EF has gone from cool kits to the master trolls of the peloton and I kinda love it

And that's okay! It's what makes the kit subversive and meta and fun and noticeable.

I think they wanted a boring jersey and then spiced it up a bit.  

Rapha EF was fined several thousand euros for their Giro kit. They are just having some fun with it, what Howes calls "undorktifying"...

the UCI regulates sock length for crying out loud...

I am almost always for overthinking cycling things, but in this case... 

Debuted the Donuts Jersey (long sleeve, fleece, of course) for my family today.  They didn't notice it on the way out because it was under a vest.  But upon returning home, they liked.

So much that my wife was wondering if there were extras around.

FWIW, I like the one-off idea.  Pulling for something that utilizes more Kissena orange next time.

Got some love for the donut jersey from some local riders when I stopped at a popular cafe in Bedminster this weekend- they'd never heard of Kissena, but loved that we "embraced confectionary treats"

Was curious to hear from people on sizing. I got my new member jersey in a size M and it seems to fit alright. I noticed the body is a bit baggy but the shoulders are tight. I'm assuming its the TechLite jersey

was curious if anyone suggest some of the others for a better conforming fit? Was thinking of getting the Tech + or Performance jersey... anyone have any suggestions?

Is your jersey Race Cut or Club Cut?  It should be printed on the inside collar.  Race cut is a little more conforming for a thinner fit.

It's tricky.  I'm 5'9" (in the morning) and vary in weight from 145-155, I used to race at 145, but now usually I'm at 150.  I've varied between small and extra small jerseys, and as I've been in Kissena since we switched to Champ-Sys as a supplier, have plenty of experience.  

For me, I know what you're referring to.  At  my lighter weight, I definitely wanted to size down and did so with older designs.  I have a jersey with tech lite fabric and spandex short sleeves in extra small.  Fit was mostly good, if a bit short (i'm also a bit long-torsoed), but the pockets were a bit small.  I also have a summer jersey from a few years back that mixes multiple fabrics in an extra small, and the length was a bit too short (in the drops, the bib material starts peeking out with older bibs), and the pockets were a bit small.

If you go with more spandexy jerseys, I'd definitely recommend the extra small.  I have a small aero jersey from the Apex collection, a now discontinued style with raglan sleeves and dimpled fabric on the sleeves and back, and when I'm in the drops, it flaps a bit in the chest.  

And when it comes to skinsuits, I'd recommend extra small.  Don't understand their sizing in skin suits.  

When it comes to the winter jacket, I recommend the medium.  It's hard to put more than one layer on under a small winter jacket.

My recommendation is to see if you can try on a small.  You're welcome to come visit in Harlem, but ask around to see if anyone's close to you.  

If you're looking for a more conforming fit, you could probably just go with a small in most of the jerseys. I think at your height and weight, that size might give you a better fit. The tech stuff is made out of the same material all over, so it'll be a lil less stretchy at the shoulders. The other jerseys have different materials for the sleeves which are usually a lil stretchier and can be form fitting but not constricting. 

I haven't tried the newly named jerseys yet though (lite, +, etc) but I assume this is still true?

Based on how my Tech Lite M fits, I think Xsmall would be too small; I would need a small in the performance line. and yea figured with skinsuit I would definitely want to size down. Appreciate the offer to try some on - I may take you up on that actually just to make sure I've got the sizing right. I'll shoot you a message on Slack

Yea I think if I go with the performance line which has much stretchier shoulders, I could make a small work. Thanks for the help!

I'm at 5'9ish and 150lbs with pretty average propositions and Small all the way for people around our height/weight. My only dislike is the neck sizing which always seems way too tight so I usually have that zipped open to my collar bones and tucked inwards to avoid the flap.

I second the small for the jerseys other than the tech which doesn't have the same stretch. I have to size up in the bibs to a medium, but that is the same for most brands.

I get this too! My neck-to-torso ratio aint quite right. I did see that Chapsys is offering half collars on a lot of their jerseys now, hoping that will provide a lil more stretch/ wiggle room.

For point of reference the new member jerseys are Tech jerseys. While they do have some give, they are not as aero (form fitting to show off our lack of upper body musculature) as the Performance and Apex jerseys. 

Hey all - working on putting together my first order on the Team Kit store and just wanted to see what folks think would be a good "starter kit" for someone that doesn't own any Kissena gear yet. I assume bib shorts and a jersey are essentials and will work for the warmer months coming up. Is there anything else you all would recommend buying off the bat?

In the old days, two bibs, two short sleeve jerseys, a wind vest, and a skin suit would carry for a year of solid racing.  But that was because a club could only put together an order once a year and it took months to plan and execute.  You'd wear the short sleeve jersey over whatever long sleeve jersey you had for the March races, and you'd wear your old stuff the rest of the time because new clothing was hard to come by.

Nowadays, and in Kissena, you can go piecemeal, picking up items as you see the need.  

There are limitations in terms of finances and space and if you're new a question of how committed you are.  Those are things you'll have to decide for yourself.

I think two bibs, two short sleeve jerseys, and a vest is pretty good starter set.  you can wear one while the other is air drying after hand washing and you have a spare to fall back on if you crash and wreck a set.  The wind vest is a great layering option much of the year, as in once you have a vest, it can be deployed 12 months of the year.
