@Erika I think that is taking the "pre-ride" to a new level :)

One word on the week prior to a race (which has been covered in other threads) you can't get any fitter in the week before a race; all your "work" is around staying "open" and getting enough sleep.

The lovely Jules Roazen has generously agreed to lead Friday's training session. 6 AM at GAP. Great opportunity for more fine-tuning of pacelines and some other drills he might have in store. Those of you who rode last week know that Jules is a great teacher, so do come out in full force!
Hi all - i've been off the bike all week due to coming down with the flu on tuesday, and I doubt I'll be ready to ride by tomorrow, unfortunately. I woke up on Tuesday to go for a ride at 7AM and was surprised at how 'sore' I felt when I was getting ready to head out...which turns out was not soreness from going to the gym the night before, but because I had a fairly high fever and major body aches. I've been resting since then and still don't feel 100% (partly because i havent really been able to eat since Tuesday so I'm feeling pretty weak). Bummed to miss out on the ride tomorrow but I think the lesson learned for me this week is to listen to your body when you're feeling run down and to rest when you need it.

Anyway - enjoy the training session tomorrow and hope to see you guys next week!

thanks @gwynna. and good luck with your race!
hi folks. im feeling a little under the weather. I might come out if i feel like I wont hold everyone back. but thats not feeling too likely. im also working saturday and sunday :(
but...I think I might have the following 5-7 days off! which means non stop nyack runs, later park laps, or whatever else. will post in the appropriate thread :)
Between racing and colds a lot of people are feeling a lite ground down. I'm going to focus on some skillz drills tomorrow.

Sleep is magic though, so if you need it, take it :)
the women of kissena are sick.  i also got sick.  at long last, when i sing shania twain's "i feel like a woman" to myself, it's true!

This girl is on fire today.
A lonely (but dry) morning in the park where @Craig and @Perlberg were the only ladies in attendance - I made a quick u-turn and snuck another 90 minutes of sleep in before the day proper began :)

don't worry folks. Craig and I talked about wedding planning and all sorts of other great girly things in your absence.

Hi gals.
I've been super happy with the supportive and fun rides and training I've been on so far : )
I heard there is a possible meet up tues mornings at 8. Can you let me know if its happening? Thank you!
Ladies, tomorrow is supposed to be a glorious fall day! Sir @JeffWhite has kindly accepted to mentor our Friday ritual which will include, but will by no means be limited to: cornering, holding a line, tips on handling downhills, and more tight pace lining. 6 am at GAP. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Thanks to @Jules for suggesting cornering and downhill work :)

Hi Ladies! Just wanted to (sadly) RSVP in the negative for tomorrow's ride. I have a work conflict. BUT I will be in the park prior to our 6am meet-up, doing solo laps until about 6:15am. Hope to see you all at GAP for quick hello!
I'm in : )

Just wanted to say thanks @JeffWhite and @Kayt for a really helpful am training. I am always so very pleased when I can make it out to these friday mornings. So much great coaching and mentoring going on! Also I think I had forgotten what cold felt like, well it all came back to me. Numb toes burning in the post ride shower. Ugh.
Windproof Neck Gaiter is your friend, now that the it's freezy out...

Fun ride! Intro'd Kayt and Anna Maria to an openers workout using the cut-through for short laps. Also worked a lot on attacking (anyone remember the one thing I wanted you to remember???). Outlined both the French style attack and the Perlberg special.
Omg battery operated ones? Can you send a link about them? And thanks for the tip on the foot specific Warner's. I didn't know there was a difference.
