Bump!

How is Tuesday 2/21
or
           Thursday 2/23

@ Redbeard at 8pm?

Scroll to the start of this thread to see what it's about.
I propose that this is followed up with a riding session where theory can be applied.  Options include somewhere along our usual weekend route or on a closed course like the track or Floyd, etc.
Beg borrow or dress up as a supervillain in order to attend this. You will not be disappointed.
BUMP

either work for me.

will the curriculum include s'beeds?
Folks, Thursday 2/23/17, 8pm, @ Readbeard it is.

Who's coming?
I'll be there
Me too
I went last year as a newbie racer. I learned a lot, asked JP questions and was able to turn advice into action with my fellow Cat 5s in the subsequent season.

I wish I could make it again this year.
Can't make it, but fully endorse this meeting and encourage members to attend.  This is one of those great perks of joining the club!
Work travel ugh. Are folks considering recording this? Maybe just turn an iphone voice recorder on? Video if visuals?
Looking forward to seeing y'all there!
Sorry I can't make it. I'm out of town for a conference. To anyone on the fence about going, it's totally worth it. I checked out the talk last year, and it was a great, comprehensive set of talking points for racing. I especially got a kick out of the team tactics discussion, since I didn't have tons of experience with that aspect of racing.
How was it?

awesome, amirite?

Bump.

This is an annual talk for Kissena members.  While it is geared toward new and newish racers, everyone is welcome.

Scroll up for details and history.
Bump again!

Basically, this is a forum for you to get all your tactical/strategic racing questions answered.  It's about picking apart the chaos of bike racing, the fog of our wars, and seeing it piece by piece, rider by rider, for what it is, and learning how to decipher what's going on while you're heart is about to burst through your chest.

I usually try to do this the last week of February, as local racing usually starts the first weekend of March.  But, as that's coming up fast, I'm wondering about the week before Grant's Tomb as that's a must-do race.

Please share comments on date and place.  Can't do it at Redbeard this time; they're a bit overwhelmed at the moment.

Chime in.
This really is a must-attend if you're new to racing and a "better damn well attend" if you have serious ambitions this year.

The will to succeed is the will to prepare. Learn your craft, yo.
^ agreed. I’d like to see Cat 4 and Cat 5 racers work toghether at park races this spring. It makes bike racing so much more rewarding.

A great starting point is working with JP at his tactic talk.
I think we couldn't do it last time due to inclement weather, but combining the tactics talk with hands on, on the bike practice would be really helpful. Actually going through the motions helps "visual" learners like myself.

Also pre-talk reading material would be good to have so attendees go into the session primed with basic knowledge and questions ready.
bump again.
JP- I'm in.
Bump.

I usually do this a week or so before the racing season begins.

It's a way to provide understanding for cutting through the chaos of bike racing, the fog of our wars, so you can make sense of what's goin on, and see a path to victory.  Or finishing spent but happy.
Bump.

Life got in the way of this, but, behind the scenes, folks have helped us find a place and a time, so...

Can peoples make...

THURSDAY MARCH 14, 7PM
79 MADISON AVE, MANHATTAN (two blocks from Madison Square Park)

Let us know if you can make it.

Even though it's not before GT, it will serve as a class in the team game.  Basically, this is a forum for you to get all your tactical/strategic racing questions answered.  It's about picking apart the chaos of bike racing, the fog of our wars, and seeing it piece by piece, rider by rider, for what it is, and learning how to decipher what's going on in a split second while your heart is about to burst through your chest.

There will be a handout.  The quiz comes whenever you pin on a number.

@RichardCornetta @RobertMullen @JohnOlsson @RobertPeras @Joshua Wilson @Nathaniel Picard Busky
I'm in for next Thursday
I'm also very much in.
These talks are invaluable to new racers (and old!). I think everyone who can should attend.

Thanks JP!
Thanks @mugwump! Let me double check with the Queen of the house and get back to you.
