SPEED TEAM (Time Trials)

I'd like to do more TT's, so I'm starting this thread in hopes of getting club involvement.

I've had a blast doing these with Patrick and Adam. I think that you would too.

These are the TT's that I'm trying to get out to in July:

7/12 NJ Route 29 35 KM TT(T) - https://www.bikereg.com/nj-route-29-35-km-ttt0
*Conflicts with Cap Region RR.

7/19 Blueberry Circuit TT - NJ ITT 25 Mile Championship - https://www.bikereg.com/blueberry-circuit-time-trial
*Conflicts with R&A PP Race.

7/26 Lake Nokamixon Time Trial and PA State Time Trial Championship (20k) - https://www.bikereg.com/lake-nockamixon-time-trial-and-pa-masters-state-time-trial-championship

Any takers?

Vlad, you had me at "I'd like to do..."
Argh. I would love to try these but I'm out of town on all of those dates.

Actually, I could do the 7/26 Lake Nockamixon TT. Count me in for that one.

I won the Cat 3 division NJ Route 29 35 KM TT this past Saturday by 1 second.

I got the 8th fastest time overall. I'm looking forward to chipping away at it.

Shout out to Mitch Sonies who got the 2nd fastest time in the "Old School - Non Aero Division" with a blistering 0:51:49.
Nice work Vlad!  Holy Cow.
Anyone here feel like going slow?

Vlad. Where are the shoe covers BRO?!?!
Lycra shoe covers are not aero son.

I need those high top neoprene jams with the stitching that trips the wind... of which I have none.
Congrats Vlad. Looking mean and fast
@Adam: apropos shaved legs in the wind tunnel. We need to know the effective speed used for the test. Obviously, 50km/hr will yield a different result from 40km/hr as evidenced by the use of regular bikes for uphill time trials. Wind resistance is highly non-linear with respect to speed.

The pseudo scientific presentation using unexplained and unlabeled bar charts really annoyed me, especially when they leave out critical bits of information. And the shaving cuts on that dudes legs were disgusting; he had a long recovery in front of him.
"Average across all 6 athletes was 14.7 Watts; range of 10.4 Watts up to 17.2 Watts.  All at 40 kph.  Pretty big differences."

Body position not a factor because they're measuring difference in drag —  legs aren't changing frontal area significantly whether in drops or tops.

Thanks for ruining my day Specialized.
Yeah, John. You spent all that money on the aero bike and the extra-tight skinsuit. You know what's next.
Is Saran Wrap UCI legal?

Are there any TTTs coming up?

Is Saran Wrap UCI legal?
Doubt it, but I know one local racer who got away with clear packing tape for a season and a half...

I'm looking at that podium, Vlad, and you clearly are the winner based on shorts alone.
Love it.  Vlad knows Crits.  Vlad knows Road.  Vlad knows TT's.

Vlad's a-coming for the next big stage race for sure!
I won the Cat 3 overall at the NJ Route 29 35 KM TT series today... by 1 second.
@Vlad

Awesome. The length of the gap doesn't matter. The bragging rights do. We definitely have to do more of these next year.
I feel my English roots may compel me to join the speed team next year

Awesome!  Photos?

Wind tunnel teaser. Speed kills.
Really interested to get the deets on this, Vlad.  Do tell.
Vlad and I are dusting the cobwebs out of the Kissena Speed Team this weekend for the Upper Freehold TT on Saturday. I have not raced this course. It is a rolling 11 mile loop.

I have room for another masochist or two. There are cannibal categories for anyone who doesn't have TT equipment.
