@TimCusick your comments about allowing us to customize how to take some rest this summer make sense. If we are trying to peak for CX season, how many weeks between the summer "rest and rebulid" and good form for CX?
Thanks, @TimCusick. That makes sense. I figured you'd thought about the complications of doing this for a club plan.

So when I'm done with my rest, what counts as 3-5 days easy riding to get rolling again? And how can I get the 14-day base rebuild plan plugged into my TrainingPeaks account?

I am also curious to hear how you answer Patrick's question about cyclocross.
Hey @TimCusick, I'm done with my rest and 5 days easy riding to get rolling again. How should do the 14-day base rebuild to ramp back into the team plan?
Max,

I loaded an additional "Post Rest Weeks" plan for this week for you. The two week return period is one week of easy endurance riding (which you completed) and one week of structured workouts (which I posted). Each of the workouts is marked (PRW) for "post rest week.

If others are resting, please follow this protocol meaning totally off one week (ish), easier endurance riding for a week (target 5 days) then the PRW plan. Just let me know when you want the PRW plan to start and can add to your account.

Hope this makes sense..
Thanks @TimCusick. That makes sense, but I don't see any workouts in TrainingPeaks labeled PRW. Or am I overlooking it?

I see it in there, check again, might have been loading

I see it now. Thank you! This is a very nice feature for the club plan. I appreciate it.

I'm also interested to hear how you answer Patrick's question about cyclocross:

Team - tomorrow is a rest day!  I will have plans posted later tonight / in morning....changing things over to structured plans taking a little bit longer then i thought.

Also - Patrick will answer your question more deeply but not too long 2 weeks tops...
@TimCusick thanks for getting back to me. Just to clarify the question is when best to time a summer break to build to peak form for cx. As it turns out, I will have to take time off the bike second week in August while traveling with family so I don't have much choice as to when to take a break. I am still curious about when to expect being in top form after such a break.
Team,

Plans are posted!  The new plans feature structured workouts.  For those that are not familiar I am adding a few links.  Don't worry, if you just use the workout text and plan your workouts in your head, there is no change.  For those that are familiar or want to learn, these workouts will allow you to upload to any "trainer program" or your Garmin head unit for use during the workout.

CX Update,

This year I will post a full CX plan on July 17th, this will be a 12 week plan that has 8 weeks of fitness building and 4 weeks of race prep/race.  This will get you well into the season and rolling into the core of races.  I will then post a 4 week "race" plan that will give examples of "race week training" as most of us are racing every weekend at that point.

There will be two version of this plan.

V1:  For those that have been training and racing throughout the summer.  For those planning on doing this, taking a 7-14 day break before this kicks off is smart.  I would determine days like this; CTL 50-75 takes 7-8 days off,  CTL75-100 takes 9-12 days off and CTL over 100 takes 10 days +.  There is no perfect science here, just need to dump some chronic fatigue and get ready to roll.

V2:  This will assume that there is little to no training history and rider is starting fresh.  Not sure we will get many of those in this group but will make it available.
Team,

Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend!  Starting to think through next  cycle and get CX plans ready.  I want to start getting a list of people that will be wanting CX plans loaded.  I suggest starting most in mid to late July but that really depends on your race scheduled and desired timing.  Let me know who is interested in a CX plan and what start date you are thinking about.  I will load either a 8 -12 week plan into account when I post next round.  You can post here or email me at info@wko4.com
CX for me pls. Thanks!
@TimCusick CX plans starting in August please.
I just renewed my plan. Ready to start the cyclocross plan anytime -- this week even.
Looking for GMSR plan, race is ~9 weeks away (Sept 1-4).
@TimCusick where does the 40kj/kg come from as a threshold of fatigue?

@TimCusick I'm on board for the CX plan. I've got a TT at the ne of July and will be travelling without bike for a week in middle of August. Not sure if best to post it starting now (and I'll adjust) or later in summer. Do whatever you think is best and I'll adapt. Thanks
Team - Debi and I think we have all the lists caught up and will be posting plans for CX and GV tomorrow morning.  Please check sometime in the day to ensure we got it right...
Sorry to be a latecomer here but I think I would also like to get on the CX plan. But I have a question: when does the CX plan that starts on the July 17 end up "peaking"?
Read my above post on CX plans.  I can load and 8 week or a 10 week version.  I asked for people to tell me which one they want and when to start but everyone just responded " i want a CX plan" so was just going to load the 10 week.
@TimCusick There was a typo in your July 4 post. It wasn't clear that there was a choice. If loading this week it makes most sense to load 10 (or is it 12?) week plan. Thanks
Got it.

For this group and following general timeline of the east coast, I would suggest starting the 10 week plan now if you have some rest or the 8 week plan after a week of full rest and a week of easy riding.

Sorry for confusion.

Wo if the CX people can tell me if they want the 10 week now or the 8 weeks starting two weeks from now (July 24th) let me know.

Tim, thanks. For me, the CX plan starting now, please.
Tim, July 24th for me please.
Eloy - done....10 week plan starting today.
Thierry - posted!
I'll take the 8 week plan starting the 24th. Thanks Tim
Patrick, done!
All - I just posted July/August plans, a few comments:

1.  For those on the standard road plan it is getting pretty late in the season and not sure how much people are racing this means lots of options.  I tried to cover it all but tough.  Next year, need to split plans between "racing" and "fitness/group" riders.

2.  The road plans are not "structured" workouts as they did not seem used.  If you want structured workouts let me know.

3.  Green Mountain - loaded the GMSR plan to one person.  This is a block training plan for the next 6 weeks (i loaded 4) meant to push a peak.  It is pretty tough.  Let me know if anyone wants this, can switch or add.

4.  CX Plans - these should be all posted, let me know if questions.

Thanks!
