The clothing order form has been updated is now posted as a Google Doc at: http://goo.gl/B3DDS and the Excel document can also be found at http://www.kissena.info/downloads/KissenaTeamKitOrderForm02-11.xls.

This is an experiment for now. Many have complained that they did not have Excel and had trouble using the old form. Hopefully the Google works for everyone with Excel issues.

The deadline for ordering will be 2/28/2011. I realize that this only gives you 1 week, but I want to get the order in ASAP. If there are any concerns about making the deadline please let me know at clothing@kissena.info or call me @ 917-579-1299.

There many changes to the file:
1) The prices have been updated to reflect the 2011 Champ-Sys price list.

2) We are now using the upgraded "Endurance Chamois" as the default. Several members have been testing them and report they vastly superior to the ones we have been getting. The price difference was only $10 so it was a no-brainer along those lines. We still have stock of the current chamois and will sell them for the 2010 prices.

3) New names for current products to match the names Champ-Sys uses

4) New products and variations.

or

2) can we fill in, save and send the googledoc version online without downloading and emailing (then paypal the amount)?

Are all the bottoms using the new "endurance chamois" as the default pad or is it only just the bib shorts and summer bib shorts? I ask because the order form specifically states "new chamois" next to the bib shorts and summer bib shorts, but is not stated for any of the other bottoms. As always, thank you for handling this for the club.

Good question, all bibs are using the new chamois by default.

This may have been covered in the past. However, what is the difference between the summer and regular items (jerseys and shorts)?

they will do a kids jersey - no minimums

Clayton has indulged me in letting me experiment with C-S clothing. I have the summer jersey and bibs. Love 'em. Definitely cooler than the regular jerseys and shorts. The jersey doesn't have as much stretch for the main panels, though the mesh side panels do seem to stretch a bit more.

Special sizes and items are open to discussion, but please contact me off the list to better manage the feasibility of the request.

This is an example, if they qualify for the Junior program then the basic kit is free and they just need to smaller sizes. Do we just waive membership for children of members or is it open beyond that?

I need something for wind for the next couple of months of outdoors; any thoughts about wind vest vs. wind jacket?

the vest is the more popular option, one reason might be breathablity. The vest has a mesh back so it is good at blocking the wind without making you feel like your in a cocoon. do like the jacket in cooler temps though as it does take the chill out of the air.

A wind vest is good year 'round. I sometimes have it over a jacket at 28-degrees and I use it all the way into the 70s--if it's raining out.

What clayton wrote makes sense to me--I find it easier to overheat in a jacket. A second limitation is that a jacket is a bit harder to take off while riding.

I don't see the wind vest as protecting from the wind so much; I use a vest as a layer to give me time to warm up. Most of the time when I start with it on, I expect to take it off. When I start with it in my pocket, I'm expecting that it will cool off enough that I'll want an extra layer, but not the bulk of carrying an extra jersey.

I'm also a big fan of a wind vest. They are generally compact and crushable and provide a nice blocking layer.

Once I bought a heavy THERMAL vest and it is the single most useless piece of clothing I own. But that's because it's too thick as layering piece and doesn't provide necessary arm coverage on those sub 25 degree days that you need.

Thermal jackets on the other hand, with a single layer of longsleeve base layer is brilliant in the coldest of conditions.

Anyway, I often wear a vest over fuzzy longsleeve jersey over a baselayer or two and find that is a nice combination for days in the 34-45 degree range. What the windvest does is keep your core warmer, so blood can flow more freely to your legs and arms. So indirectly, it is helping keep your whole body warm, just by covering up the most important part--your core.

If I wear a Large bib and Large Jersey, would I also be a large Skinsuit?

I have mediums too, but they are mad tight on my AWESOMELY BIG thighs. The large gives me a bit more room.

If the large is comfortable on you than yes, if it is tight than up-size. Also if the jersey is rides a bit high than up-size. For the long sleeve skin-suit the sleeve length is generous so no worries there.

What are the skinsuits (line 26 and 27)? Are these the speedsuits advertised at http://champ-sys.com/custom-long-sleeve-speed-suit.html ?

Given I started my last TT more than three minutes late, I need a great skinsuit to shed time. I'm sure I can shed (at least) two seconds climbing Whiteface!

BTW, my b..t will be extremely glad during warm days that the chamois has been improved.

yep, the tech is a jersey material, the euro is traditional, though not cotton, and tight ish. with stupidly large brims that look dumb flipped up.

So when's the loot roll in? I'm barely scraping by with one borrowed vintage jersey (thanks, neilx)!

Usually takes 6-8 weeks for the kit orders to return. CS does a great job of turning it around quickly, and Clayton is fast about getting the huge order broken out so everybody gets what they need.
