come on Jeff....just do it!!!!!
i haven't followed the series points--not sure who leads--but race predictor tells me that Pasklal Lamour is going to win.  so let's mark his wheel!
Pretty sure Pasklal Lamour is one of Yacks joke names.
i even sent jeff an oddly formal private message asking him to do the 2/3.  if that doesn't work, then call me a paskal lamour
Okay okay I formally accept your invitation. Let's strategerize before hand.
Go fast...turn left.
enough ?
@Jeff Condon please do the 2/3...we can get strategic!
Omar listening.
JP please come out to plaaaay

I'm in. Condon's in.  Rigby's in.
Waiting on you.

BTW, I wouldn't peg Lamour as the likely winner.  Looking at the current start list, Gerald Adsavage of Weather channel and that guy Boguslaw (considering his name, this guy should be Brendan's nemesis) of Foundation look like bigger threats, and out of a breakaway.  I'm also waiting to see if Bike Habitat's better riders sign on.  They've got three currently listed (Ragot, Barouh, De Baca).  Nothing against them, but they don't seem as strong as Perlberg, Ratzmann, Vollbach, and Mueller.  Still, if they can get one or two more into the race, they're one of the better tactical teams.  The CRCA/TBD team seems decent at the game as well.
I concur.......many do day of reg now as you aren't really saving any money doing the pre -reg
also I changed my mind and have registered for the Masters race..........but I kid....
yeah it seems like it's more expensive due to the bike reg fee
Charlie needs registration volunteers. Please email him to let him know you can help with reg.

Thanks!
De Baca should be listed with Perlberg and Ratzman. Mueller and Vollbach aren't quite back yet. But they're the teamiest team around and they'll be in almost any winning break. That said, Perlberg is a 1 now, so he won't be there.
Mueller bridged to the winning break last week and was working in it till he came back to the field...Vollbach is really fit but don't know if he is going for the green jersey...Ragot took a point in that at the last race. The team is stacked.  Which is great as it makes things easier...if one of them goes up the road, you better jump across fast or you will be fighting the block for laps & laps.  I'm not going tomorrow to get the miles in and get position for the sprint on the hill...I've got three park races in and it's time to shed the leg warmers and stop sitting in.  I plan on staying near the front and following any Habitat wheel I can when they make a move...I haven't been dropped from a park race since I upgraded 3 years ago...tomorrow I might be...and that's ok...if you never take chances and turn yourself inside out, you will be pack fodder forever.  I'll try and follow Konrad, the kids got moxie.  My prediction for tomorrows race...

small field tomorrow for CAT 5. some of the stronger riders I typically see at the races aren't signed up. only @JohnOlsson and I are registered from KCC. might be a good opportunity for KCC to dominate the CAT 5 heat. @Will Kalbacker
@BenFinoRadin
@GiacomoVischi

separately, @TessMichalik was kind enough to volunteer and help w registration again. she's been cramming to crank out product ahead of her next art show in May. but she'll be back in the saddle soon.
good luck guys tomorrow! I will join you soon in PP races
There is a singular rule in bike racing, once you flat you are done. Everyone looked good this morning.

Not a chance, I will let Brendan to remain the expert on the subject.
on the way back from the race i got sprayed by sealant because there was a hole in my tire from something i hit.  instead of going flat it just lost like 20 psi and remains COMPLETELY RACE READY!

the video from the race today is converting.  i enjoyed myself, poor positioning in last lap left me way outside contention.  rolled in a little too aggressively (had to make sure ragot didn't beat me across the line) to hear charlie chiding us to relax.  sprinting for 20th, wee!
I told you Thierry...and racing to beat Ragot is always good spy craft.  If Charlie doesn't want people sprinting for 20th...then why record results past top 10?  Also it's  my $42.50...ill sprint for last place if I want to. If Charlie thinks I look stupid sprinting in the finale...he should see me for the other hour and forty minutes of racing = worse than stupid
Race report: I woke up sick again and should have stayed in bed but I was excited to wear my new Strava socks.

I quickly didn't feel well. After 3+ laps and reams of green muscus pouring out of every orifice, coughing, profusely sweating, I had enough and went home.

the good  news is that I'm full on sick now. fever now and the works. Whoops.

I understand @JohnOlsson took 8th (nice work). Not sure how other CAT 5 folks did.
video from the men's 2/3

it seems that portions of the video that would have shown jogger's lane violations have mysteriously been lost in translation.  must be something wrong with my hardware.

with 4 to go there was an attempt at a breakaway but we were too disorganized.  way too far apart, not working well together, basically just kind of all going zone 11 near each other but not intelligently.

i made some progress with my race tactics, at some points.  was better with some situational awareness stuff, didn't drop out of any breaks this time, made sure i knew we were being caught if i dropped back.  i had a nice bridge-to-the-front effort to get into the 4-to-go break attempt.  let them get a gap on the hill because i knew i'd drift down to them.  for some reason, maybe because i'm not that large (low frontal area, comparatively?) i always seem to roll down that hill and catch people without pedaling if i get tucked in.

not quite sure why i didn't try harder to move up in the last lap, i think it just got bunched and i didn't want to take risks.  once folks went into the joggers lane i just kind of chilled out and let the race run its course.  i do think i had some left in the tank -- my power curve for this race was below my 6-week power curve at all times -- but hey, it's a park race and there's always another one unless you break your body!

good to see GREG DONOVAN (a sight so rare I can't even be bothered to see if i've spelled his name correctly).  last time i saw him a police officer threatened to arrest me and gave me a $190 ticket on my bicycle for red light in a park, so this time was major improvement.

well done on the top 10 Mr. Olson!

What a day...no arm warmers...no leg warmers = shackles are off!  J.P., Jeff & Brendan made it to the start.  I think we all did a good job of keeping our noses on or near the front.  There were some moves but none of them ever got far off the front and were reeled in pretty quickly.  I tried to watch the front on the KOM/Sprint as those are cheeky places to launch a move.  I made a few attacks on the hill.  The first time I rode up to some Foundation guys at the top of the climb who were gassed and on another lap I bridged to an attacking Rene from Rapha Racing...again he was gassed but I gave him a pretty clean looking arm sling in the hopes that he would try something.  No avail.

Anybody who tells you that bench presses will not help you in a bike race is a fool...A FOOL I SAY !!! (check out the arm whip I'm givin Rene on the hill)

Legs felt good.  J.P. was off the front solo late and I jumped on the wheel of 5th floor guy who was bridging but this wasn't going anywhere with 2 to go.  We tried to put together a train for the finale with Jeff & Brendan behind me...I like the idea of being 1st wheel on the hill & hope to do more of this.  Now Yacks was staying left against the joggers lane & anybody who tried moving into me at that point was going to know 1. I'm there 2. I'm staying there 3. You are NOT pushing me into that joggers lane.  The hill was congested and Jeff found a line up the left side that looked good, Brendan in tow.  I clawed to stay near the front group but the early attacks sapped me...as I knew they would.  I'm not sitting in anymore and most of my races will go down this way...c'est la vie.

Wheels....Yacks rode his 1300 gram aluminum clinchers today...they are pretty wide with an 18 mm wide inside channel.  They felt really good...plush...they sort of melt into the road.   After racing 50 mm carbon wheels almost exclusively for the past 8 years I have a strong reference.  The carbon wheels are way stiffer and they bounce me out of my seat sometimes and by the last few laps my lower back is screaming uncle.

Oh and the aluminum wheels have red skewars and Eloy will tell you these are the fastest.
Post race recovery starts immediately...
yogurt, protein powder, protein bar and a snicker...with Sr Frog keeping things cool

PRO move of the day...with 2 laps to go I witnessed Al Borough empty both of his water bottles on the climb...sooooo pro
The Yacks gun show is getting 2 tickets to the tanning booth....shortly after this picture my left bicep exploded...

that's all I got...now go get your pics

tried to post this earlier but internet issues some of those race images are hilarious. i think it's a combo of victor's flash and the lighting being juuuuuuuuust right but some of the pictures, particularly the cat 5, the faces all look photoshopped on.  i think the flash sort of flattened shadows out or something.  unfortunately, greg, it looks like you were kissena'1 #1 victim.  but check out this alien in front of you!  (the effect is most pronounced when the image is smaller)

I was just looking at the pics and thinking the same exact thing re photoshop. and i certainly have some lbs to shed still!!
here is the original image Victor photoshopped my face onto:

pretty sure that alien in front of me just turned 12. that kid was so young! gotta give him props for racing.

some great pics of yacks, jeff, JP and others in there

good to see GREG DONOVAN (a sight so rare I can't even be bothered to see if i've spelled his name correctly).

Good to be seen, Brendan. My last Prospect race was in 2010. I had to ask Eloy how many pins to use on my number. Good times!

It's not the kid's fault, I saw his dad pinning the number on him.
