I had the same reaction. Nothing from the first two, but pretty tired for a day after the booster. White wine problems, eh?
My wife (3 shot vaccinated) got  COVID in Puerto Rico traveling for work and is stuck there over Christmas

oh no! here’s hoping for very mild symptoms for her
Ditto Eloy, good luck to her and your fam.

That is a double whammy! Here's hoping symptoms are mild as possible and a speedy return.
My 18 year old son just tested positive. The rest of us are negative (so far) but Xmas with family will have to be postponed

Oh man that sucks. I hope she has no or minor symptoms!

Ack! That sucks. Wish for speedy and healthy resolution.

Take good care, wishing for mild symptoms and a speedy recovery.
Good luck and be well, friends. It's real out there, but the anecdotal (and statistical) good news is that the 3 or 4 folks I know who caught it recently, and who were vaccinated and/or boostered, faced very brief and mild symptoms.
Damn @PatrickGrehan that's scary. Here's to vaccines and a speedy recovery for all.
So far symptoms are mild. He was double vaccinated and had appointment to get boosted this weekend. Not worried about him - just trying to procltect my mom whose in her eighties
At this point it feels really inevitable that we're all going to get it, and the hope is that after 3 shots the symptoms - both short & longterm - are minimal.

I have to say after close to two years of turning our lives upside down to hide from this, with three small kids and elderly parents, etc - I feel pretty defeated. Obviously it wasn't all for nothing - we dodged the worst bullets and now everyone has had their shots - but still... it's like getting dropped from the break in the last lap of prospect.
Good chance Amy and her kids are positive despite vaccinations. Amy got her booster Tuesday last week. Her oldest received full vaccination status late in the summer/fall when he became eligible, and the youngest just finished up their second dose of the under 12 vaccine at the beginning of December. Amy can't get a test until Monday since all the sites are booked up...
That really sucks. Here in MN (or at least Duluth) we can get molecular kids in the mail within 24 hours; the test is proctored via zoom and we can drop the package off at DHL.
I tested positive yesterday via rapid 3 times and symptoms have been mild. I felt worse after getting the vaccine and booster.  Still waiting on my second PCR test results (first was negative at 4 days from contact), but I highly suggest that if you or anyone you know has had contact with a positive, that they get tested as consistently as possible.

My co-worker sent me this link for a free by mail PCR test.  The one I ordered came in a day and it sounds like the turnaround for results is pretty quick too.

Not to be grim, but schools are all messed up. We had ~20 kids test positive in the span of a week and a half. Anyone who is vaccinated is not considered a “close contact” even if there are positive cases in the class.

Fwiw, I haven’t heard any cases of serious illness, but constant emails about so and so getting a positive result is a little unnerving!
Amy and her youngest (who came home with it first from school - JrHS in Brooklyn) has the following symptoms: cough, fatigue, congestion and a runny nose, which are all suggested as Omicron symptoms. I guess on Monday she'll find out for sure... Sucks I can't spend Xmas with her... I get tested at work every week. This coming week it's super quiet as the semester is over so I'm a little less worried. Maybe starting in January I will go twice a week...

Amy is negative on a home test kit her friend gave her. She said she shoved it up till her eyes bled. Lol. She's still going for the test tomorrow with her youngest...

SIL who came over on Sunday for holiday lunch tested positive today - double vaccinated and boosted. When she was over she did complain of being tired and cold, but otherwise is doing fine. Wife rapid tested negative during lunch and we have home test kits for rest of family, but we'll all have to get a PCR later this week to be certain.

It is real out there, stay safe out there friends.
ugh
Time to share my omicron experience as I'm just coming out of 10 days of isolation with a mild case that blew apart our family plans for the holidays (or what I affectionately now call Shitmas). Even though I had no apparent respiratory symptoms, only a slight muscle achiness and fatigue, getting back on the bike riding zone 2 for an hour yesterday my body wasn't exactly happy and I felt weak. Fortunately, I did manage to keep up some strength training while in solitary confinement thanks to a kettlebell. I finally understand the Turkish Getup and it was good to my core. I also discovered that Kettlebell Swings are surprisingly aerobic in a short amount of time, but a little dicey on my lower back. Beyond the family Christmas calamity that was Omicron, and the shortcomings of eating take-out night after night -- it was super frustrating to lose the momentum I had with my base and strength training. I was set to start my Hypertrophy phase before I got sick and now that I'm getting back to the gym, things aren't as rosy as they were. Still, excited to get healthy and strong and glad I know how to get there.

FWIW, I was triple taxed and pretty diligent w/masking. I'm fairly certain I got it from a date night indoor dining at Dirt Candy. A guy at the table adjacent was a vociferous laugher in my direction and my gut said, uh-oh. Fortunately, the viral load seems to have been low and the one day I was home with fam before I got test results nobody contacted the virus. And if you were curious how I managed to isolate, fortunately we had some friends nearby with an empty apartment, so it was basically a 10 day retreat that made me appreciate how lucky I am to have a loving and comfortable home to return to. Plus, my dog was so happy to see me this morning, he nearly knocked me over. The highlight of the 10 days: home-cooked meals from my wife and friends dropped outside my door.

Other fun facts: On the day after I first felt symptoms, I had a standard PCR test and a 1-hour Rapid PCR test. The rapid tested positive. But I didn't get the standard "reliable" PCR test results back until yesterday (!) and they were negative. On days 5-9 I did daily rapid tests to see if I could possible end isolation early (in U.K. if you test negative on day 6 & 7 they consider you cleared). But all the rapid home tests were positive and I expect that I might continue testing positive for awhile, even though now I'm no longer contagious.

Stay safe out there!
It was a Covid Christmas for us as well. My wife had mild symptoms and tested positive on the 23rd.

We also had friends in the building with an empty apartment where she was able to isolate herself. Unfortunately it wasn't enough. Kids had fever on Christmas day and on Sunday. It went down quickly and they've been all right since.

It's now my turn. Mild cough and a positive test 2 nights ago. Lots of mucus.

Maybe it's a blessing in disguise. A way to catch an extensive rest we would never have allowed ourselves to have otherwise.

Anyway, looking forward to be back on the bike.

Happy holydays everyone.

Ugh. Covid Christmas or Shitmas sounds about right. My wife and I have avoided getting it so far, but both  my boys have been in bed most o the week and we definitely did not go see family. Oh well.

My younger son (18) is feeling himself again and my older son (21) will hopefully follow suit in a a few days
COVID all up in our house today! 1 in 50 in Manhattan!?
1 in 50?! Yikes!  Almost makes me not want to come back to the city...

Anyone got any plans or tips for safely getting back to riding post COVID?  I've read a bit about the risk of myocarditis (heart inflammation) and would really like to avoid that.
