@Brendan Rigby how long does it take to ride out?
@JohnMalcolmson I'm in
Well, do we have any options for a group ride this weekend
@Mark Taylor Sunday Piermont.
I'll be riding Sunday.  Starting on the regular, but diverting @ Piermont for more.
I'm in for Sunday
See you sunday
I'll join as well, looking forward to meeting you guys
Anyone up for Cunningham tomorrow?

I haven't been out before... should I drive or ride out? (if driving can take up to three others leaving from where the car is parked under the Manhattan Bridge)
I'm in @JohnMalcolmson
Nial - I bike to Cunningham from Astoria. It's about 8 miles so it shouldn't take you more than 45 mins to get there.
9am GWB Piermont?
Yes
Had a flat this morning, probably catch you guys at the GWB
Austin, Brian, John, Mark Taylor, Will, myself rolled out.

The others seemed dressed more appropriately for the weather.  We had a lovely, chatty pace to Sparkill, I went out for more, they went to Piermont.  Hope their ride finished well.

I was rolling slowish up past Nyack College.  When I hit the wall, I heard a gear-shift behind me.  Saw two guys.  No idea when they arrived.  I thanked them for the inspiration and sprinted up the hill.

Back to my solo ride until Stateline. There, a guy sprinted by me halfway up.  Head-to-toe Rapha, a Cervelo R5 and Zipp wheels: no way I was letting him get away.  I closed him down, but let him take the top.  Figured he could be useful shortly.

Over the top, we passed some guys.  They tried tagging along.  We passed a few more guys on the next hill.  They, too, did the limpet thing.  And then by the scout camp. another few.

A big group.  The only way to be safe is either back way off or ride harder.  I chose the latter.  Some guys dropped (including Rapha), some never came through, one would only sit on his buddy's wheel.  Basically, three of us were pulling, and I seemed to have drawn the short straw because I had the wheel sucker not quite pulling in front of me.

After the light in Tenafly, the others refused to pull, so I ramped it up.  Then, as we approached 200m to the gas station, four guys jumped me.  I had no idea that was their finishing sprint.  #allonourownride

All in all, a good day.  My longest ride in four weeks, some sustained hard riding toward the end, and it even got sunny out.

While JP was on the Mission Impossible ride, we were sipping Stumptown at Piermont bikes watching Lombardi in the comfy chairs. That's why he's fast.

Great day and great to see a good KCC turnout.
Not really a group ride question,
My son has a soccer tournament in east Islip,this weekend , any body know any good riding out that way , cross bike or road works, i'll only have a couple of hours between games
FYI:  Food and Drink Ride this Saturday, 9:30am, see the Food and Drink thread!  I'll be down for a Sunday group ride to Piermont as well.

Who wants to ride with me on Sunday?

Piermont, or somewhere over the rainbow, early is better
sounds good. i can do any time so let me know when you want to roll
Avoid Prospect Park on Saturday Oct 10th. the Rock'n'Roll half marathon is going to be trashing the proverbial hotel room. They were setting up the start in GAP, stages and port-a-potties all over the park.

To maintain sanity, avoid the park and check out the Food and Drink ride thread as well as the Kissena twitter feed for food stops.

Tomorrow's looking good for anyone not out racing cross somewhere. Anyone up for Bradley Tweed then coffee?
I'm up for a ride. I think Jill and John were planning on heading to Piermont, join them to start?
I'm still hoping to make it for the ride, but I've got a moderate sore throat at this time. So, there is a possibility that I may have to bail. I'd be down for Bradley if not.
