Jill is somebody.  I think.  Scroll up.

(waiting to hear back from Vlad on the race)
Yes Jill is somebody , I'm nobody
Just saw this. I agreed to go to Bear Mtn tomorrow, 8am GWB. Taking train back.

Look for spirited, harder group riding this weekend. Minimum 60 miles. Who's in?

Bueller? Bueller? Byoooo-ler?
I'm in for Saturday. Total ride time of around 4 hours for me, so I'm looking at something like a low-road with sprints->crush Bradley->doughnut+vuelta@Mattie's->hard pace line home.
I'm in for a Piermont ride plus Alpine or Bradley on Sunday. I might go earlier, 8am GWB.
I'm coming in late Friday night from Nebraska, but I'm in for a Sat morning ride, 8am at BKB
I'll be there for at least some of Saturday. 4 hrs & low road w/ sprints sounds good but I'm racing sunday @ fbf so not sure how hard I want to push it on climbs / way back

Saturday is sounding like it's shaping up to be similar to a KCC Sunday ride. I think I'll audible on Saturday and plan on riding with the crew on Sunday.
I'm not riding long this weekend, ignore previous post. My CP race is Sunday!

I plan on heading to FBF on Sunday too, so sounds like a good plan.
Sorry guys, gotta bail on Saturday. Picking up a hammerhead ride leaving a bit earlier.
A good ride this morning.  Met up with Jim at 8am BB and we rolled around 8:05 thinking no one would make it.  Once we turned onto the Hudson Bike Path, we were joined by Brian and Scott.

The path was busy with runners training for the marathon, cyclists, and what would appear to be the beginning crowds of college students back in town. 10 more degrees and it will quiet down again.  10 more below that and we'll stop being in the news running red lights, yelling at pedestrians.

We cruised along Riverside Drive to the GWB where we were met by Brendan.
The porta potty by the GWB had a lock on it.  Damn.
I was looking for a solid workout along River Road so the group turned in that direction and I picked the speed up a bit, with Brendan and Brian hard on my wheel.  I set a PR on River Road, but up Alpine, I-have-a-job-so-I-can't-train Brendan smoked me to the top.  Still looking strong!

Regrouped at the Ranger Station, I turned back along 9W and home while the rest headed to Piermont for coffee.  I said hello to JP on the GWB on my way back.
Nice to see you guys and everyone was looking good out there.  We did a tough, fast ride along River Road, nice job to all.

Now I'm going to do my most favorite thing and inventory my winter clothes for this last open order and see what I might need for those long, 30 degree, hand-numbing rides. . .
bruce pulled for the entire river road segment until we went downhill to alpine.  so of course he was a comparatively more fatigued when the climb came!

good to see faces old and new.  ran into the somerville crew @ piermont and teased ryan about installing his front hub in the wrong direction.  konrad started it.

not sure if i'll make it out tomorrow, but hopefully i'll be seeing folks more often during the cyclocross season.  i've been getting that bike ready...sponsor-inappropriate as it is

actually, now that i think of it, i simply cannot race until JP returns my tensionmeter.  so it might be a couple months ;)
That was my first ride over the bridge this year. It was great to get back on the bike and ride with teammates. I got dropped on every hill and even fell off the 9W paceline on the way home but I made it back to Brooklyn alive and just in time for my nap.
And we saw Mr. Bertucco at Piermont heading out for bigger fish. That guy is looking skinny. Like bike racer skinny.
Got out at 9:30, thinking I'd ride for 2.5 hours.  A mile from my house, I flatted.  And it wasn't a slow leak, so I had to repair it. Might as well roll on.

Saw bruce coming back.  He looked satisfied.

Kept a pleasant pace on River Road until the hill at Alpine. Got in a nice VO2 effort--but as I was closing in on my 5m and the stop sign simultaneously, a cop was there at the stop sign.  Nuts!  Do I keep going to get a good time or stop?  Luckily, as I slowed, and was starting to brake, the cop went through.  Phew.  And I got past the sign as the time ran out.

Saw Whitey at Stateline.  So this was the Hammerhead ride?  Him and Konrad?  Turns out they were climbing better than the others.  I wanted to ride some tempo with a group, so we rode together, and just before we started, the stragglers appeared.  And after a few minutes of pressure, Whitey and I had dropped them for good.  Felt nice taking turns at a good pace.

We backed off at the end, and socialized to 79th.

Nice riding.

Sunday, 9am Jersey side of the GWB!

Depending on the mood/composition/time demands of the group, I'd be willing to lead a Jersey wormhole. 56 miles is the Saddle River ride which is not much longer than the traditional Rockland Lake.
Was a blast today and had my fastest times so far this summer, even though I got dropped on the first hill on alpine. We paced pretty well on 9W until I got a flat, was a nice break though using Brendan's super pump. Legs are shot so gonna skip the graveyard tomorrow, but will be riding easy with a buddy as he gets his last ride in before his tri next weekend.

Several surprising and unusual things to be noted at the start of the Sunday KCC ride. First, I was 10 minutes early (gasp!). Second, I was wearing current generation kit (shocking!!!).

Or was I? If a tree falls in a forest...

I waited until 9:15 and then motored north all by my lonesome. Started with the Apple Orchard route, forced by a felled tree to divert a bit, got back on track and continued north and west, taking in lots of nice climbs, and country back roads, Hudson River marinas, before ending up back on 9W past Rockland Lake and home the usual way.

All told, an "easy" 88.65 miles, 3087kj, 5751ft of climbing.

And now I rest. Green Mountain SR, here I come!
ok not  a group ride, but a couple of PP observations in the morning.

Some guy with a kit that has "Push harder" written across the ass. I don't know quite what that is supposed to mean, but it is hard for me to figure out a response that doesn't sound inappropriate for family media.

Smorgasburg definitely is going to make sundays in the park harder in terms of low stress riding.

Dan's comments reminded me of the other thing I saw this morning. A dude wearing a full kit made to make him look like Spiderman. Not like a jersey with a picture of Spiderman, jersey and shorts meant to look like an actual Spiderman costume.

And far be from me from critiquing anyone's fashion sense, but all I'm saying is that if you're going to dress like Spiderman, you might as well commit to it and make sure that jersey is race cut!

Spoke to Myles earlier. He might be riding/training out at Cunningham this weekend; for anyone not racing this weekend, and want to get in some off road riding in, this might be the ticket.
Piermont Saturday morning? I could do 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM departure from GWB. Prefer 8:00 AM.
I'll be there 9am
I'm up for Sunday earlier time suits better
Are we confirmed 9am GWB?

Didn't I just see pics of you on FB with a sling on your arm?
