@Brendan Rigby - good to know. I might be picking up a new rain jacket today to prepare for it. As of now, the ride is still on. I'll update the thread by tonight with a definitive answer. Also, if joining the Redbeard ride, I can add you to the rides email chain if you PM me your email address
The Redbeard ride has been officially moved to Sunday. Consensus among attendees was Sunday is better. Still leaving RB @ 8:30 sharp (I'm showing up at 8:15) We'll still probably get hit with some rain but not as much.
If it's not raining too bad I'll join at GWB at 9:30, and go up 9W. Would like to do that structured workout from TP, if anyone's up for it. but I guess it'll have to be a game time decision...whether I ride in the park, go up 9W, or use the trainer. weather dependent.
tomorrow i'll do 930.  i want to go out when it's reaaaally raining in my rain gear.  i will likely be unrecognizable (look for hi viz) in my rain stuff.  look for orange poc helmet.  probably can't make ride sunday morning, have late event saturday
I am literally the only customer at piermont right now. I saw 1 other cyclist since I left home
i needs to see a pic of you in your rain gear

basically.

hard to tell from picture (we are not photographers in this household) but everything i'm wearing is soaking wet.  not feeling very dry at all.  but not cold!

@Brendan Rigby how are those Defrosters? Not water proof?

930 gwb for me for redbeard Miele ride
Yeah....sun is shining...it's dry....it's Sunday...Have fun all you childless bastards !!!!  Yack will be doing anything but riding a bike today....Mother's Day detente will be upheld in my house.
I got out early for some coffee in Piermont. Saw a turkey coming up Rockland Road that almost could have started me in the eye. I think it may have been the biggest bird I've ever seen in the wild.

Saw Phil and John O as I was coming back over the bridge and then Giacomo and John M on Riverside. Hope you all had good rides.

Good to see Jim. Turned out warmer than I expected and I was wearing a wool cap and jacket. I was overheating on Alpine hill. Ran into another kissena (name escaping me) right before the climb to ranger station. I told him not to wait for me as he spinned away. Otherwise nice to be out today. Time to go for a run.

Sorry about that Phil, was in a hurry to get my miles in before the mother's day festivities. Didn't think I was going that fast, rarely go more than 10mph on Alpine climb. The temp swing was crazy, I swear it was 5 degrees cooler at the bottom of the hill.
We had a nice ride from Redbeard. There were two Redbeard groups heading in the same direction (Jess Birch, Redbeard ambassador, led a more casual ride from the shop) so we all rode up to River Rd together then split up after alpine. Met up with Brendan at GWB and Giacommo & Malcomson on river road. We had three non-Kissena's that were in for a longer ride but two turned back at the market with the shorter Redbeard ride and by the end it was Rigby, Me, Ben (new Kissena) and Joe (non-Kissena) that tackled Bradley and headed back together. Fun ride all around.

Great! We roll at 8:05 from GWB. We'll do Alpine, Bradley to Water Tower, then Little Tor and the Orchards. We both need to be back by 12:30.

I need to hide this thread for the next couple weeks...... see you all in June
I'll be there tomorrow for new member ride. Was originally going to race a TT in NJ, but have fighting off a bug that ended with my taking a 3 hour nap today. See you all tomorrow
