He's also the NY State champion for track racing.
Had I known that...I never would have let him win the club championship...
Any group rides this saturday?
Saturday 9/9:10am roll @ GWB far side. Piermont via RR.
I'll be there!
If I weren't racing HPCX on Saturday morning, I'd be riding some Prospect Park laps with Brooklyn's own Olympic hopeful, Josh Hartman.

He's not Cippo or Moser (yet), but my understanding is that he is a tenacious cyclist. I recently read about his recovery from a crash that left him in a coma and his goal to ride the boards at the 2020 Olympics. But that will take some cash, and the park laps are a fundraiser. Check the link for details

I'm curious to hear any stories y'all may have about racing with him. He had already upgraded by the time I started racing locally. But if he's ripped any of y'all's legs off, well, Saturday's the chance of a lifetime to drop him. ;)

Hey y'all, my cx bike is busted so I'm planning to do a mountain bike ride at Blue Mountain reservation this Saturday.  If you haven't been to blue mountain reservation before, its accessible by the Poughkeepsie metro north train, Peekskill station.  Its steep rocky and not rideable on a cyclocross bike, unless you stick to the East side of the reservation.  I like to take the train so I can drink beer!

Max,
     I don't think I've raced against him.

However, we had many discussions about his Brooklyn Navy Yard Crash.  That was pretty awful.  If you search for "Hartman" on the forum, you'll find some of them.   I"m amazed he decided to race again, or that his parents allowed him--not that my parents stopped me from riding after I crashed on my face riding to school in seventh grade.  But then, I only had road rash.

All,
Anyone going out tomorrow?  Gotta admit, I'm on the fence myself.
plenty of us will be out there today :)https://www.bikereg.com/hpcx-uci-c2-2017
I ended up riding in Cunningham on Saturday.  NYCMTB and CLIMB have gone and done some serious maintenance:

The vines have been cut back, so no more thorns or poison ivy.
Building/repair of berms, pump tracks, dirt jumps.
Some trails on the east side re-routed / re-built to include a bunch of log overs and a rock garden.  New barriers have been added to prevent trail braiding.

Did you by any chance come across some clear lens riding glasses or two of my front teeth on your ride???
Planning on hitting the Cunningham trails Saturday on the cross bike.

Around 9:30am for 2:30 hours.

Will definitely attempt a PR on the "How The West Was Won" segment  ;)

Let me know if you wanna join. 'cause single track with friends is the most fun you can have on a bike.

Yacks is down...(my teeth want another shot at it!)
Hey I think I'm down.  Are you riding there?  I'm going to redbeard today after work maybe I'll see you there.
I'll take the 8:43am LIRR from Atlantic to Hollis.
It'll depend on work, but planning on stopping by redbeard.
I’m in have to leave by 11am so might be there earlier
I’m driving from brooklyn

Ok let's meet 8:30 am. I can try to take the earlier 7:43 am train -- brrrrrr.

So to confirm @SeanGordon @twoyacks meet at Cunningham 8:30am.

Usually the East side 210 street entrance is the best place to meet. Text is by far the best way to find each other: 347.225.1058
Sunday GWB far side steps — 9am/9:10 roll
