I’ll see you all at 8:30
good...and get ready to break another axle
Need a tube
Great times today with Mark, Patrick, and Yacks.
Yacks got like 300 flats, but otherwise just stupid fun on bikes.

Totally PRd the now infamous 'How the west was won" segment. Testament to teammates. Patrick beat me by about 6 seconds.

So many new turns and fun logs on the East side too.

Thanks for coming out it was a blast!

Sorry to have missed you today, I woke up sick this morning.  I plan to be out there tomorrow on my mountain bike though.
Let the record reflect...Yacks doesn't just trash bike parts...the Volvo wagon needs wheel bearings

I'll be at the GWB Sunday, rain or shine.

I need to be back at the GWB by noon.

What happens in between, where we go, how fast, etc, I'm flexible on.
@JohnMalcolmson see you GWB Jersey side steps at 9AM.
The turning leaves were spectacular. Also we rode with Mr Bicycling Mag.
@JohnMalcolmson, @ErikPfiffner, and I had a lovely ride to Piermont.

Nothing too hard (ok, two sprints), but we rolled nicely along, and finished up with a nice, hard rumble down 9W.  Gotta admit, for as boring as 9W can be, I love me a  fast pace line heading south.
Who's up for a mountain bike or gravel ride this weekend?

Option 1 ride at blue mountain reservation in peekskill (mtb)
Option 2 take the old scout camp trails and old 9W to peekskill and take the metro north home (cx bikes)
@SeanGordon I'm interested in option 2, depending on which day you're thinking. Do you have it routed? Curious to see where it nets out with mileage and elevation.

Something like this?
Sunday GWBs 9am Group ride - RR > Piermont
yeah @MaxThorn, should have been more specific. I know those trails, specifically was wondering  about north of Haverstraw to the Bear Mountain Bridge. I've never ridden on trails that far north.
I tried the old 9W route at Jones Point once in midsummer and found it completely overgrown. Would be interested to try it this time of year.
Oh I wasn't trying to prod you into anything, @ChristinaWoolston. I haven't ridden more than half of the route I linked to! I've just been spending (too much) time recently dreaming of a route like the one it sounds like @SeanGordon is suggesting. Y'all are welcome to use the route I linked to if it intrigues you. Nor have I ridden on trails north of Haverstraw to the Bear Mountain Bridge, but...I have mapped it. Too many maps, not enough riding...
Is this too ambitious?

Cause I may be up to try it this weekend.....
The gravel route I had in mind was this: https://www.strava.com/activities/488342934

Lucia showed it to me a few years ago and I rode it a couple months back.  Its a fun route if its not too cold, the major difference is you ride the scout camp MTB trails to the Piermont area.

It looks like its going to range betwen 25-40° on Saturday, rain Sunday.  Mountain biking would be the smarter choice, rather than fixing flats on CX bike on singletrack.  Who's got em?
good luck with that...

Blue Mountain:

The forecast is warming up for Saturday, I'm down for the gravel ride!
@SeanGordon  Saturday looks like 35-40F with 30mph winds, so I'm going to pass on the gravel ride and race cross instead. Somehow that seems like the lesser of the two evils.

I'll be down to road ride on Sunday if anyone else is going up 9W (or elsewhere).
Sunday GWBs 9am Group ride - RR > Piermont
Sat morning is gonna be super cold and I don't have any fleece with me.  Also, no cross bike for me at this time, so gravel ride is out for me.

Giacomo and I were chatting this morning, May do an early afternoon ride instead once it warms up a bit.  Will post time/meet location tomorrow.

I am down for Sunday morning
The forecast is warming up for Saturday, I'm down for the gravel ride!
As much as I want to do a fall gravel ride I'm sort of fighting something and starting out in the mid 20s seems like a bad idea for me this weekend.

I may race cross on Sunday but I'm going to wait and see how I feel tomorrow.

Next weekend is Supercross but I'd probably be up for something Thanksgiving weekend.
@GiacomoVischi and I are headed for an afternoon ride today. GWB Jersey Side 1:30pm, will do a river road loop

I was not blown away by the 15 mile an hour winds, I was however blown away by the scenery ,
that 1st turn onto river road will always feel like , escape
