I bet we missed you guys by 2-3 minutes. :(
Is anybody riding tomorrow?
What time? I'm not planning on getting completed bombed at the reception so should be up early enough to ride.
I'm going to hit Prospect early for an hour of power if I can - maybe 7am till I cry "uncle"
I'm going long over GW.  Maybe a bit later due to RAGOT RED HOOK ROCK 'N ROLL
I'm doing Piermont tomorrow; 9am GWB. Let me know if you are in
Must have been 9:18
If I am up early enough, hour of power with jules at 7am. If a little later, 9am with floris to piermont, if even later, hangover spin with anyone at whatever time at the park.
Sorry guys - I'm out.  Family Man stuff.  If you're in the Club, you'll understand.  If you are not...

i'm shooting for 2 hours of riding in PP, starting 8:30 am. mostly endurance / tempo stuff.
Just got home from the park. Very crowded and a section on the east drive with lots of broken glass. Beautiful riding weather, wish I wasn't pressed for time.

yeah... I wish my girlfriend didn't leave with both sets of keys..... looks like I'll be hitting the trainer.

edit: the trainer in June without AC??? good one Michael! make french toast and have a recovery day instead.
@ Perlberg that sucks.  I'll be setting out our DOUBLE WIDE kid trailer and taking it for an inaugural spin...
oh man, that sucks, Mike.  Take some inspiration from Homer and Bart...refrigerator tent!

BTW rode a little with a member I've never met in a random park paceline.  Jeremy(?), if you're on the boards, nice to meet you.
I was at GWB at 9am where I was approached by two potential new members (Garrath and Dale) who apparantly were invited to join the group ride. However. they were waiting by BB at 8am nobody showed up.. It is probably better to post on the forum if you invite people and don't have the intention to ride.

We went over low roads to Bradley, a quick pitstop in piermont afterwhich we rolled back to GWB mostly pacelining with other cyclists. Nice ride and I think both would like to join KCC.
Took the Double Wide out for her Inaugural; promptly ran into Ed from Major Taylor, then Stearnsy and McKay!  Misha made an appearance and then Alex from "Discovery"... crazy 13 mph pace line we had going there for a while.

Good times!

FWIW that hill is a completely different creature with 100+ extra pounds

Zing!  Right down to the underage girl(s) following him in circles in the park...
How dare you....

Hey, I assume my new Quarq isn't calibrated correctly if I'm doing almost 500 watts up Closter Dock, huh?

The new ones (which yours is) don't need any calibration.  If you're doing that for more than a minute though we aren't going to be friends anymore...

That is a requirement of the extra 100 lbs.
doing almost 500 watts up Closter Dock, huh?

It's gotta be wrong.  I was going 700 watts up Tallman and Stateline climbs. Granted, I'm a giant chug-a-lug but that doesn't seem right.

Oh, ran into KonRAD, and met Matt for the first time.  Had a nice ride back with a fellow Rutgers and King Kog lad too.  KonRAD is looking FIERCE!

Jeff, check with JP who is master of calibration and what not when it comes to Quarq...he's even got the equipment to do it.

BUT, I will say that based one what you've told me about keeping up with or beating 145lb climbers on the team on some climbs, then it wouldn't surprise me if you are generating 500 watts for a few minutes anyway. Because aren't you like 180lbs? I'm too tired to do the math here but you know what I'm saying...

About 8 months back, JP and I did a fun little experiment where we climbed together up State Line climb. JP is around 150lbs, soaking wet and I'm 170 shriveled and dry. It took me 30-40 extra watts just to keep pace with him.
I think the main problem is I'm an idiot.  I'm sure those were just spikes as I occasionally glanced down.  Yes, I'm almost 180.

Climbing the Col du Prospect today it took me almost 400 watts to keep up with the social (15 mph) pace.

That extra 100 pounds definitely takes the spring out of things... I guess it's time to back of the Hagen Daas
Chocolate peanut butter Hagen daas is the bestest thing EVAR.
It's was nice meeting you today David and looking forward to meeting all the other kissena riders on the road.stay safe on the road.
Haagen dazs, of course, being one of the great finishers in uphill sprints on rainy weekends.
