Group Ride (Sat & Sun)

Small, but nice group of Kissenas at the traditional 9am start. We hung together until Sparkill/Piermonty area then started to split up into diff't groups based on what time we had to be back home.

JP, Harry and I went North to Rockland lake, although they totally dropped me on every climb, and since I insisted they NOT wait for the slow fatty of the group (ME!), I mostly rode solo home. I did catch them as they did a little extra loop around Rockland Lake and then stopped for beverages at Toga where there was a rest stop for a Diabetes tour. The ladies working the rest stop were super nice and let us fill our bottles with purple and red beverages.

And let me tell you, it's been a while since I've had me some purple beverage...it was delicious!

They dropped me again heading home into Piermont. I took the opportunity to ride slowly home solo (maybe one day I won't have to tell guys on a group ride to go on without me...but not today!) on the low road and explore some new ways to ride back up to the 9W ridge. Some nice roads and homes tucked away between 9W and the low road for sure.
Sunday Group - Fun Ride

hot 86f/30c, (6)bottles water +the good folks @Toga&Ride4Cure Red&Purple ~ soooPrefer the Purple(huh, what is a Purple....JoeM?) even better ice! after 57mi; Fun to draft off group after DaveJordanCpk Race sat...JP &ended ip being lead out for sprint1, pipped by Bertucco(?), &LowRoad State Line @a good pace sort of thought no one would come around - then BAM! everyone came around...nice job guys winner may have been Floris/DaveStokes/MarkTaylor or PatrickJ? after Piermont turn lost MarkT; ALL waited to verify not a mechanical - KCC quite civilized id say, climbing @pace then split @mid-point of Bradley Rd left onto Schulyer Rd, w/ JP&MarcB...followed by pace &a series of descents&climb mini-camp by JP, ea. time road turned up JP either attacked, road just painful enough pace or scrummed all momentum then attacked, i inevitably clawed back on (we were of course both returning to nyc), i'd encounter a calm/cool&relaxed JP...lesson in humility. it is nice to ride with such fellows!
thanks,
-harry;-)

ps Bertucco: a) thought you may have gone 4a muffin@Piermont& b) 4:59:46 ride time, 3800ft climbing, 3546 calories!
Guys Apologies for causing all to wait , got dropped off heading towards Bradley and inured best to turn around a head home, heat and hangover got the better of me and the road home was a long lonely one Fun riding north with you guys anyway

I know for sure that Floris was ahead of me on the state line sprint.
It was indeed great ride with the team. Although I discovered that i'm not really used to this heat yet (I had 90F average on my garmin). I was virtually unable to do anything the rest of the day but sit in a/c and drink water...

On that state line sprint, yes, I think I took it after hiding behind JP et al untill the last moment... interesting to see that that Strava segment is virtually Kissena and Champsis only.

Uhm, can we talk about how I won the REAL sprint? You know the one not on the narrow, dangerous, trafficky road. Tenafly Town Line Sprint Champion Forever!

Planning on an early "family man" ride Saturday (even though I'm currently living like a bachelor) - 6.30 am BB, 7.30 GWB.  Gotta be at work at 10ish.  Holler.

I'd love to, but there seems to be a dearth of races for Cat4 this Sat.  I contemplated lying about my age for the R&A race, but that doesn't seem very ethical.
I am going to ride tomorrow. 8 am BB ride to Sparkill and back. It will be wet. Fenders will be on, rain cape too. Please feel free to join and bring spare tubes, etc.
I plan to join the Sparkill party.

I will likely join.  Anyone have a spare cape?

Precip 0% by 8am. I'll be there.
If it's nice out I'm committed to a very slow ride with an old friend; I'll travel as far as Tribecca before peeling off.

If it's shitty out I'm in for the full monty.

Pray for rain.
I'll be at gwb at 9am.
Just keep it clean.  This is a family show...

I can't go long today but hoping to get some time in PP. Anyone else in the same boat?
Heh. "Boat"
(Sorry)
I'll be a BB 8am
Was thinking of a quick row around pp in my rain bike. Back home in about an hour. Have to get ready for groomsman duties early.
Ha Jules, I knew someone would clue to that.

Yang, I'm thinking I probably can't get out of the house till late morning. I'll post when I'm about to escape.
jim i'm heading out in 10 mins.  have to be home by 930 on the dot.  see you if you're out there.
Anyone riding in the park? Jim - did you head our yet? Might spin for an hour - lemme know.
heading out now

Nice fambly-man style ride with Vollbach this early AM - saw JP, Alyosha (low key in non-Kissena kit, natch), Stokes and Clifford heading out as we were coming back across the bridge.

Where was everyone?  Aly and I waited until 9:16.

I also caught up with Jules and friend on the GWB going home.
We had two flats on the way up. Stokes was over before the rest of us and when we crossed we just went. I don't have the tone we were there though
