I'm selling my Cycleops Powercal. Used it for this past season and liked it. Yacks and I have discussed the use of it in the gear forum ad nauseum. The strap was used maybe 3 or 4 times. I used my garmin strap for most of my riding. Looking to get $50.
For those who don't have power meters this is a great way to get introduced to training with power. It can be used for longer intervals =>10 mins and is best for quantifying the intensity of a ride and when used with software the cumulative training stress. It doesn't do short intervals and it isn't actual power, which is why I'm selling. I have a powertap now and using both confuses the analysis within training software.

Someone buy that thing....for $50 you can say you are training with estimated power. It's a good heart rate strap too. The reading you get on the bike is too jumpy unless you smooth your power out to like 20 seconds. For longer intervals and your rides avg power it's not terrible. I have a computrainer and when I am fit, my 20 minute 250 watt intervals tracks within a few watts using the power cal. When I am not fit, sick or tired it will track about 10-15 watts lower/higher depending upon my heart rate. I've found one of the benefits of the Powercal, when using Strava, is that it can help keep you from overtraining by telling you how many days to take off the bike after a really heavy race or training ride.
My next power meter is likely a Stages unit.
