Posted By: josephmuellerFigured I would throw this out there as well. I'm looking to sublet a place for the month of June and July, until my future roommates finish there lease. I'm pretty open and flexible to location. I don't smoke, or have pets, just 2 bikes. Let me know if you know of any open rooms.

Thanks,
Joe

Found a place in Morningside for the two months. But that means I probably wont be at the Prospect Park am workouts.
Now you're in my neck of the woods!

Holler!
I need a new road bike I have about $1500 to spend what can I get with that.
what size are you?
Nosson - what do you need ? Full build ? Or can you bring parts over from a previous bike ? If so, which parts can you bring over?
CAAD 10 105 components

Or if you can find a shop that will give you a deal, CAAD 10 with Rival components for a bit more. For what it is worth, I think the Rival components perform as well as Ultegra level stuff, so it is a pretty nice upgrade.
Hey did those shoes ever come in?
Anyone have a shimano compact crank they want to sell? 172.5 preferred

Patrick
@WDC: Where are you living? We should ride together now that school is out for you. Also what time do you have to leave in the am to get to prospect for the races on the weekend?
Veltec just shipped the shoes. They should arrive by this weekend.
Between being chronically ill and getting hit again, I'm starting to think some otherworldly force doesn't want me to ride a bike or get in shape.

Ride report:

Started out nice. Hot. Saw some falcons running around the west side bike path (see attached crappy photo). Ok, I guess those are those red tailed hawks or something. But it looked pretty cool when they would flair their wings out and trot around in the grass and people would move away.

It was hot. Saw JP incognito. Got dropped by a recumbent on the way back. Still hot.

I'm cutting across to 2nd avenue. Taxi is about FOUR FEET from the curb, stopped in traffic with everyone else. Had been since I saw him from the block before. I get nailed right on time. Going pretty slow so mostly ok. Knees scraped (left one pretty swollen), left hip aches. Anyway, the lady is very apologetic, but I'm guessing it's mainly the cabby's fault? I insist the police come to file a report since I'm not sure how I'll feel the next day and my left shifter/brake lever is damaged.

Cabbie tries to leave once wah-mbulance arrives. Uh, no. Of course, he has a different version of reality and has quickly turned from Mr. Nice and Concerned to alternately blaming me or the passenger.

Anyway, what do I do? Call L&C?!?! Any other advice is appreciated.

I didn't want to go spend hours at the hospital for what is most likely just a swollen knee cap. But, I haven't fully examined my bike and it certainly seems they (yellow cab or whomever) bear responsibility. EMT's said I have like 72 hours to go to a hospital if needed, and it will still be on the same run/call.

Well, that's another thing I accomplished: never really been doored before in 4 years of riding in the city. I suppose it was bound to happen!

So, I'm probably not going to feel like riding down for Happy Hour tonight (boooooo) and may not be available to gobble points at FBF tomorrow (sorry, Mike).

Back to getting fat and taking up fishing.

Thanks again,
Jeff
Oh yeah, the hawks and cabbie yellow on the shifter. Evidence!!!!
Sorry! I shrunk them down to like 100kb and they are still huge and sideways.
Sorry to hear that Jeff! Adam White is recommended by Transportation Alternatives, is a friend, and has helped out a few of my friends. Really nice guy.

Jeff,
I think the law is that it's the cabbie's fault. They aren't supposed to discharge their passengers just anywhere. To paraphrase Walter Solchek, this isn't 'Nam, this is New York City. There are rules.

I got doored and the prize was my hand cut open almost to the bone. Took an ambulance to St. Vincent's, got stitched up, saw a hand specialist, the works. I bring this all up because I wasn't going to sic a lawyer on them, but then they had the presence of mind to refuse to pay for anything.

I also went to a friend, a lawyer, a cyclist, who loves going after cab companies who refuse to pay. She beat them good. Based on my experience, and from what I've learned subsequently, cab insurers are in the business of not paying for anything. They seem to need to be threatened to pay for even the most basic things. It's probably their strategy. They probably figure paying the few who make a stink is cheaper than paying out for every cyclist who gets doored.

My friend is Barbara Solomon. (917) 613-7360. barbarasolomonesq@gmail.com.

Club member Todd McLoughlin is a sole practicioner. This isn't his specialty, but I think he's learning it all the same.
Regrettably, I'm selling my '08 Cannondale Slice TT bike (w/o wheels and pedals).

Size: It's a size 51 with a 50.5 cm horizontal top tube. For reference, I'm 5'6" and I ride a 53cm horizontal top tube on my road bike.

Spec: All components are 105. Crank arms are 170mm. The 105 (12/25 cassette) and Cobb saddle probably have about 30 miles of use on them.

Condition:I bought it at the beginning of this season used but in perfect condition. I've raced it twice and trained on it several times. It's still in perfect condition.

Price: Looking to get $975 for it (no wheels or pedals). I'd consider taking a little off the price for a Kissena bro.

The bike rides/handles great. I'm just not fast enough to warrant it.

Will probably put it up on E-Bay over the weekend if no one's interested.
Also selling a Garneau Superleggera Helmet, Medium, White/Grey. Purchased this past January for $139.00 I've worn it 4 times. Would like to get $75 for it.
For sale: brand new (in box) 7950 Dura-Ace compact 34 x 50, 172.5. I would like $400 for it (These days I accept Loonies too). If you prefer a regular DA 7900 chainring, I have that too. Forgot to put the price for the (new) 7900: $350.

Selling my Johnny G brand spinning bike. It\'s been nice to have as an alternative to the rollers and trainer, partly because its weight and stability makes it quiet for the downstairs neighbors, and also it allows for very hard resistance out-of-the saddle work that you can\'t really do on the trainer.

Good condition - it\'s been well used but there\'s not too much can go wrong with these things. Purchased new for $650 in 2009.

The clipless road pedals are not included but I could throw in the specialized body geometry gel saddle if you need it (you wouldn\'t use it on the road but its good for this). It does have a Cateye computer on it with cadence that I\'ll throw in too.

I\'m asking $275 on Craigslist hoping to get $250. I\'ll cut a deal for a Kissena, make me an offer.

[EDIT: aargghh why do these pictures post so friggin huge? For a pic see the craigslist ad: http://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/bik/2453201594.html]
Sorry, comment moved to correct thread in the form.

****SOLD SOLD SOLD Hey all - As I'm not racing track much anymore, I am looking to sell my 54cm square Bridgestone track bike. This is a Japanese-made track frameset with (from what I understand) a pretty rare and unique paint job. The color is pretty badass, if I do say so myself - it's iridescent, so the color shifts from purple to sea green to blue depending on the angle. The frame is NOT drilled for brakes - a real track frame. The parts are as follows:

Sugino 75 crankset 165
Nitto track bars - 40cm width (I think)
purple KMC track chain
Pearl stem - "11" (more like 100mm, though)
Hatta Super Swan headset
Rear wheel - Velocity Aero rim laced to Shimano track hub
Front wheel - unknown rim laced to Shimano hub
CST Pro tires
Kalloy seatpost
Selle Italia Nitrox saddle
No pedals

Below is a link to a photo - whisper me if you want more photos (there are a few paint chips, etc. that don't show up in this one). I'm asking $1000 for the whole setup. SOLD SOLD SOLD******

1999 Schwinn Peloton frame (TIG-welded Reynolds 853) - 54cm top tube center to center, 52cm seat tube center to center

SOLD!

would you sell the fork? i'll trade a kinesis 1" cf fork plus some skrilla? also maybe the headset? i have a cane creek, but like omg campy, ya know? trades plus cash. or hugs.
you're the second person in 40 minutes to want the fork!

negatory, good buddy - it must stay together in order to sell!

i'll take you up on the hugs, though
good 1" cf forks are hard to find. i'm sure there is nothing wrong with the kinesis on my serottta, but i find it visually distasteful, and as we all know, i am a man of fashion.
Hey all:

I'm looking for a small frameset to build up for Bo - 49 or 50cm.

Ideally it would be a cross frame or a touring frame, something to commute on and tour on.

Not looking for anything fancy - but I'm sure she'd appreciate pretty.

Let me know if you have any leads.

Mike
I know a guy who might get a CAAD 10 real soon, maybe he will sell it to you.
