When I posted earlier this morning, Yates was only 2~3 minutes down, and Dumoulin was holding Froome at 40 seconds.

At some point this turned ridiculous, and now seems more like: "if they are gonna take my wins away, I'm gonna win them all"

Lol. I can't unsee unknow everything about the "juice" but that stage was still amazeballs.

Froome made up most of his lead on the descents of Finestre and Sestriere. Tom's decision to keep Pinot with him even on the descents does not look like a smart move.

That was a hair raising descent indeed.

Obviously. I am kinda in the same boat.

Imagine for a moment, that there was no investigation into Froome, no salbutamol inhalers, no doubt that he is clean. Zero doubt. This would be an amazing ride, such inspiration, what class. Simply: one of the most amazing sporting performances ever.

I long for that so much. I want to believe in the dream. I want to be a fan.

But yet, no one that truly knows road cycling can believe this ride from this rider. It sucks.

“MPCC also requests that UCI opens an inquiry following Shane Sutton’s statements. The former Team Sky and UK’s national team’s coach admitted that some of the medicine requiring a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) might have been used to enhance performance,” the release said.

“Given the zero tolerance that everyone advocates and the necessity for transparency, MPCC renews its wish to see Team Sky and all the other teams, sponsors, organizers … to join MPCC on a voluntary basis. MPCC’s philosophy, alongside the UCI, can make a real difference in the fight against doping.”<<<

Who knows what Sky doc has been pumping into Froome-dawg these past days.

Rickenbacker was also left with most of the work
Dumolin looked scared to push too hard and blow on the climb ,

@eloy, etc: I actually do believe in Froome's ride today. As I said he made up most of the time on the descents as Tom himself has now said: "I decided two times to wait for Reichenbach because he wanted to ride with me. Maybe that wasn’t a good decision,” Dumoulin said. “On my own, I can descend just as fast as Froome, but Reichenbach descends kind of like an old lady. With hindsight that wasn’t the best idea. But it’s easy to speak afterwards.”

And it was really just Tom vs Froome. Reichenbach did some work, but didn't look that strong. Pinot did some work, but then he got pissed at the two passengers and after trying to make them work he stopped riding himself. 

History can maybe teach us something. We'll remember this thread if it is all taken away. I hope you are right, Ian, I hope I am wrong.

I think that ride from anybody would raise eyebrows. I'd like to see a more thorough analysis of where the time came from - descents vs watts.

Listening to the VeloNews “emergency” podcast and the Froome Dog presser and...well...he just sounds like...wait for it...a really nice guy.  I’m so used to that tool factory (Armstrong) who was so, so easy to hate with his intimidation and scorched earth tactics that Froome by comparison is the most likeable doper in the history of dope.

I am pretty sure I am alone in feeling sorry for Team Sky and Froome. Before the race began and throughout the race they said that it was all about peaking for the final week and especially the big 3 days at the end of week 3.
So we see the grief they get when that plan comes good. And if he hadn't shown great form in the final week they would have been criticized for getting their preparation and tactics wrong.
Seems to me they cannot win in the eye of the critics.

I am sceptical, because history has proven that we should be , but what’s the theory behind the possible doped ride, what wonder drug could he have taken .

Froome has always been super likable - praiseworthy of his rials, polite, soft spoken. It's not hard to like him.

Also having his (and other) cases "leaked" just pisses all over the shambles of a "due process" that WADA has shown it is.

It sure seems much easier to hate on the corrupt "dope police" than it is on a rider like Froome.

I don't know how anybody can do the Giro, Tour double...this Giro was completely savage...Even with a month between races how can you be recovered?

I don't buy the argument that it's up to Froome personally to somehow rehab cycling. The appetite for individual scapegoats is never ending and serves only to distance the real roots of the problem.

The nonesense patchwork of antidoping "rules" which are enforced erratically, "ownershp" of races by entities that suffer nothing for showcasing doping performances and share zero with riders, outsized rewards for sponsors and penalties that are directed only toward riders not rich or influential enough avoid them... 

This is the bullshit. Not Chris' ride.
