Khan! I desperately wanted to go on the WDC ride this morning/afternoon, but was stuck waiting for Sleepy's to deliver a new mattress. 4-hour delivery window, guess which end of that window it came? That's right 10 minutes shy of the window shutting 2 sweaty dudes dragging many dollars worth of mattress/box springs came to my door. Would have preferred looking at OKcupid pics of 22-year-old girls. At least I'll sleep well tonight.

I'll write up my "how to be a playa" guide with bullet points and give it out as a KOM prize one day. And btw, they are 23, not 22. Get it right. I'm not a scumbag or anything, jeeze. More of a dirtbag.

Anyway, the other awesome thing about the ride was seeing my crazy neighbor who usually does Williamsburg bridge repeats (i know, wtf) actually OVER THE GWB! I've tried to talk to him before and tell him there are better options for riding, but the communication isn't quite there.... I'll seriously go to nyack and back, and he's STILL going back and forth over the bridge 4 hours later. He rules.

WDC went pretty hammery up Tweed while I was puking, and Keith needs to start eating and sleeping more! He was in bonktown. I guess when you're tough and you look like Clint Eastwood, you don't need advice from me though.

Tomorrow morning looks ok, so maybe I'll limp out again.

Chilly, windy day. 300 watts to go 11mph on the flats not so much fun. Well doing the Apple Orchard ride, with the Mattie D Northern Loop extension still an awesome way to spend 6 hours of my life today. I even got lucky on the way back...wind hadn't changed directions on me so a nice tail wind for the 9W ride home.

I'll be out tomorrow. 10 @ GWB.

Correction: 10:15 @GWB. KEITH and Chabs are coming. You know it! Looks cold again.

I totally dropped Chabanov. He probably rode into the Hudson in exasperation after I left he and Keith weeping on 9W.

Anyway, Thurs-Sunday are look nice. If my sniffles don't get worse, I'm down for whatever. Big fat Kissena group party end-of-march hammerfest on Sunday? No mercy.

mark, jp and i had good hammery times today. i hammered up, then did some ash/tweed repeats, and JP hammered back home (the rain! the rain is coming!).

saw handsome Mattie at bunberry, where he made me snarf my muffin several times.

"There's a way to go on dirt almost all the way from 9W and stateline to Haverstraw. And then you can do it both ways.

First, once you cross into NY on 9w going north, you go down a hill and through a light. Shortly after the light there's a right turn into a dirt parking lot. This leads to a dirt road that drops you to piermont. Take it.

Once in Piermont, ride to Ash. Climb it. When you come to an old train station house, you're at an old rail trail that leads to Nyack. Turn right. Take to Nyack. Once in Nyack, you ride to the main street, aka Route 59. Turn right until you get to Broadway (the runcible spoon is on this road). Turn left. Take to end.

At the end of northern end ofBroadway in Nyack is a drop to the Hudson. Take it. There's a dirt path there that goes to Haverstraw. Take it. Know that on nice weekends, the first few miles could be crowded with pedestrians.

Once in Haverstraw, turn back and retrace steps."

You can also get the Rail Trail to Haverstraw is you go down state-line on 9w and then make a left onto Oak Tree Road. Continue on Oak Tree until you come to the Rail Trail head. The Oak Tree Inn will be on your left:

Is anyone off work or school and interested in a longish ride this Friday? Nothing crazy hard, just some steady miles. 60-80 from Brooklyn.

I had a great ride, thanks JP for the roads, I hit all of em. Hammered the way back on 9W with Robert from Brooklyn Cycle Force and ended up doing a little over 70miles back to Brooklyn.
