dang

no can do this wednesday

just you and your little backpack . . . alone together . . . again
I'll be there Tito. Although you might have to tow me around after the 10 sets of Tabata intervals I did today. Barf!
You did 10 sets of Tabatas? Like 8x20s, rinse and repeat 10 times? That's inhumane.
Yeah. Sprint 20 seconds, rest 10 seconds, actually 10 times. That's 5 minutes for one set. Then I would rest for 5 minutes though. And the last few sets weren't exactly, uh, stellar in their speed. Not sure how long you're supposed to rest in between the intervals though. Recommendations?
I recommend you have Leroy record you doing it next time and post it here.
There is no rest. The point is to barf.
Ok, so do the 5 minutes of 10 intervals and then....just do that another ten times? So do that for 50 minutes?

God no. If you are doing 20 and 10 second sprint efforts (especially the 10-second ones), then you are working on acceleration, leg speed and/or "snap." And if you are not giving yourself adequate recovery time between sets, then you sort of defeat the purpose. You are sharpening the knife here with these efforts and if you crudely slap it against the stone you're just dulling your blade.

I would rest for "total recovery" in between sets. Minimum is going to be twice as long as your set. So if it was 5 minutes of sprint efforts, then give yourself 10 minutes of rest at least. I'd probably do 15 though actually.
Cool. Thanks, Marc. Yeah, I rested 5 minutes between each of the first 5, and ten minutes before the second 5 (with 5 minutes between those as well). I was just confused by Jules post. Thanks.
uh...can we take the Tabata shlong-measuring to another thread? I just wanna put on my bookbag and ride to Nyack before mom grounds me for eating all the Lunchables.

Ah ok, traditionally tabata is 20sec at max effort/10 sec rest, repeated 8 times, so a 4 minute "block." I thought you had done 10 "blocks", so 40 minutes of work time, which should have killed you.

lolzactly

quit fucking up tito's internship commuting thread

you tabata herbs can go measure your schlongs in the Lunchables thread
I guess I did do 10 "blocks", but of 10, not 8. 5 minutes each. So yeah, 50 minutes of blocks. But resting between each. I was indeed killed. Like I said, the last few were, uh, unspectacular.

Tito, did you remember to have mommy pack your pencil?

I won't be to GWB before 11. Gotta do stuff. ;-(

I should be there. Maybe with KEITH! But he has to work tonight and I have class until 10:30, so I might come home and watch hockey and drink beer until 1 am.

Anyway, if I do make it, I'll bring PRIZES. And they are among your favorites, WDC: Fig NEWTONS! They're actually the raspberry ones. I like their tartness better. You know I like tarts.

Oh, and I have new girlie pics on my phone. But these are of cycling chicks, not my usual trashy ones! My new crush rides for XO Communications and got 12th at Battenkill. Tee hee. Do you think a good Cat 1 would go out with a mediocre Cat 4, or is that like dating outside of your caste?
Yeah...don't date outside your caste, bro. Cause then you're, y'know...untouchable.

KNOWHATIMEAN?
I did a solo 70-mile solo hammerfest to Piermont and back this afternoon.

The batteries in my Garmin died before the BB on the way out, so I did the whole ride with no data.

I know it seems crazy to do a ride that is not being digitally recorded using dozens of metrics but I got through it.
Ludicrous. I'm so addicted to my data I Malcolmsoned my PowerTap head unit to my cross bike stem so it is always in my sight while my road bike is in the shop.

i did almost 80 hilly miles with mike and tito on saturday then accidentally deleted the strava recording

i feel naked without it

and angry - you should never be given an option to delete something big with one key stroke! damn you strava!

Have fun.
I'll be headed to GWB. Alpine, watertower, etc etc.
