I've involved the assistance of my wife as alarm clock for tomorrow's 2 hour ride. So l'll definitely be leaving my apt at 7:30 (puts me on the Jersey side of the GWB at 7:45) for a fun, outdoor ride with some climbing, but no KOMs.

Well, I got moving a little later than expected, and it was a little colder/greyer than expected, but still some good stuff. Nothing to brag about here, just letting you know what's what, in case this type of ride interests you on future Thursdays.

26 miles, 1 hour 53 minutes, 1972ft of elevation gain.

Next time, I'm going to drop back down from 9W to throw in another climb. And actually, once River Road is open again, I'll return to home via River Road which should be nice. Today, though, while motoring home, I came upon an old-school Kissena kit in flight. None other than Todd McLoughlin reacquainting himself with the bicycle after a holiday of California surfing!

Don't forget that I'll be doing my own special training camp out in Jersey this weekend, on Saturday, with a nice trip into the wormhole. Join me!

Me again. It's Thursday, I'm going outside. Time/distance TBD. I've got a hall pass tomorrow. So I'm thinking possibly longer than last weeks 2 hour Hills of Alpine ride.

Speak up if you think you want to join and I'll attempt to organize my brain. Otherwise, I'm just going to go whenever the hell I feel like, and/or can get my Stages PM crank attached. Whichever comes first.

Well, while all you "Ivan Dragos" were plugging into your YooHoos and Wackers, I was going full Rocky IV and riding outside in a surprisingly chilly 34-37 degree day. Weird, because by the time I rolled, the sun was out too. Meh, still a good day.

Turns out, that not only did I NOT ride "whenever the hell I felt like," NOR did I ride when the "Stages PM was attached." There was actually a whole 'nother option I hadn't considered.

Ride "before it's too late."

Combination of feeling sick and sluggish and playing FB/Twitter/Forum very nearly knocked me out of contention for outside riding today. Fortunately, I did my very best impression of a Moonstruck Cher and slapped myself out of it and got to getting.

Went wormhole, but shorter. The Saddle River ride, that a few of you have done with me. Felt like a headwind the whole day. In the end, in the 3.25 hour bridge to bridge affair (for those keeping track), I logged in 56.93 miles, climbed 3264 feet, burned about 6 hundred calories per hour.

No phallic bar graphs of impressive power numbers to boast, just happy to take advantage of a dry sunny day in the winter that seems determined to kill our weekends.
Anyone available to ride tomorrow?

So, I went out today and did a slight variation of the Saddle River NJ ride. Why do you care? Because the next hot day, the next group that joins me, will enjoy the fact that I may include a stop at a truly old-fashioned Dairy Queen about 1/2 in the ride. I didn't really go hard enough/burn enough kj to warrant a Blizzard calorie bomb today, but I look forward to the day I do. Hopefully I'll have company!
Planning on either Alpine repeats or some other hills Wednesday morning.  Would like to be back at the GW by 9:30 am or earlier if anyone is interested.
Planning to do an early morning Friday 5:15 am Brooklyn Bridge-to-River Road x 2 Alpine hill repeats and would like to be back in Brooklyn by 8:30 next Friday.

Have a couple of riders, would like some more if anyone is interested.
Planning on heading out around 9 or 10 and cruising wherever. Might even go as far as the orchards, although i can be coerced either way. Holler if you're interested.
Didn't make it last Friday, so trying for tmw instead - planning to do an early morning Friday 5:45 am Brooklyn Bridge-to-River Road x 2 Alpine hill repeats and would like to be back in Brooklyn by 9:00 tomorrow. We have 2, maybe 3 riders so far.
Planning on tomorrow 6:30am BB to river road back 9W. probably around 3:30 hours. not too hard pace. join me. 347.225.1058
I'm planning a longer 9w ride this Friday morning as I have taken the day off. Would love company if anyone else has the day off!

Anyone want to join me for a ride tomorrow?

No more than endurance watts (okay, maybe a little more on the climbs #becausegravity) for about 2 hours. I think my "Hills of Alpine" ride would fit the bill.

It's a nice ride that starts on the Jersey side of the GWB, starts out like the traditional KCC Sunday ride, but then we hang a right, climb past McMansions, drop down, climb up again another way, drop down, climb back up to 9W, then River Road in reverse. This usually ends up being about 2 hours door to door, and I live close to the bridge.

Flexible on depart time, but was thinking leaving around 7am.
I'm Nyack bound on my bike on Friday morning, if anyone wants to join. My and bike and I will be staying there for the weekend, but would be happy to have some company for the ride out if anyone is interested!
I know it's last minute, but I'm going at a social pace to the end of River Road and back tomorrow.  Leaving my place in Harlem between 9:30 and 10am.
I'm going to be doing river road tomorrow Probaby somethings like BB at 8:30 or 9am.
heading out tomorrow (Wednesday 10/7/15) for 3-3.5 hours of tempo in the wormhole.  Starting in Harlem around nine am.  Write if you want to make it.

Does going out to Anthony Wayne for training with Todd McLoughlin qualify for the "9W" thread? If so, that's what we did. The infield was set up for a big October Fest beer-stravaganza (related, how is it possible that we are both sponsored by a beer company, and I have seen NONE of this beer at a cross race this year?).

So we went to the right, Todd set up a nice lap with some tricky turns, climbing and we hit it hard for 20 minutes straight. Hard enough that my back was aching. Then start drills where I learned that Todd not only knows how to turn well, but he can start as he bested me 8/10 times. This from a dude who's "not in shape."

Finally I discovered the limits of my Challenge Fangos (man, Fangos kind of suck. I mean, I guess they'd be okay for bone dry, but then I'd want a file tread dominant pattern) on a down across up combo turn.

Good times. That means this week, after the racing in Charm City, I'll have actually been on my cross bike, off road THREE times. That's a 33% improvement over regular weeks. Naturally, I expect a 33% improvement in my relative lap times and results this weekend.

Ha
Yes, def a good ride with Marc.  Practicing CX is fun, regardless of your racing plans (or lack of racing plans).
Tomorrow's looking good for anyone not out racing cross somewhere. Anyone up for Bradley Tweed then coffee?
Anyone else have election day off and interested in a ride?  Tuesday, November 3rd!
Put me down for a "perhaps"
Anyone want to get out for some time in a wormhole tomorrow? (1/7/16)

I'm planning on getting out around 9am for about 3-3.5 hours.

Bueller, bueller...you up? We riding? I'd be happy to push it back to 9:30 but could be ready for 9am too.

JP and I did some suburban worm-hole riding this a.m. Nice day, pretty chill, we skipped most of the climbs. Just trying to keep those legs turning. And see how my back was feeling after a classic old-man injury I sustained while on vacation. (I was shoveling/breaking ice at my mom's house.) All seemed okay at tempo to endurance pace.

Plenty of time ahead for bag-o-hammers.

Thinking about getting out on the roads today for some endurance miles, because at least one of the days of the weekend look like a no-go. Let me know if anyone who happens to be free this late morning/early afternoon wants to join.
Day off tmrw - planning on heading out late morning.
