@mperlberg thanks for teaching me how to scroll up. don't i feel sheepish...

Tuesday Night Tempo

6PM, Prospect Park Loop, at Grand Army Plaza Entrance

2x25 minutes tempo - the bread and butter of winter training

Please let me know if you plan to attend. It will be a little chilly (42) so I don't want to stand around waiting.

All fitness and experience levels welcome.

@mperlberg - I will ride with you, but may be a bit late, so don't wait for me. -Norm
Hey,

See ya there!

@mperlberg -- I'll be there for 6.

Great workout tonight. We did 2x25,5 tempo as planned. It was a bit chillier than I had anticipated but still comfortable riding weather.

Me, Marc C, Andy, Conrad, and their friend an future KCC member Matt all joined in. Norm jumped in a lap or so later. We had one interloper. I also share Marc's frustration that folks just join in what is clearly a club ride without even saying hello. Who knows, he might be a shy KCC new member without the kit.

Will push it up to 2x30 next week. Don't hesitate to join us. If you're a bit out of shape, you can keep in the draft. If you're feeling strong, you can take the wind. If you're in between, you can do a bit of both.

thanks again Mike. Good seeing a small kissena kontingency on a winter's eve. And, having two Spookys out was especially nice to see.

I'll be riding around the park at tempo moderato deciso tonight --which for me at the moment equates to about 19.5mph avg lap-speed (assuming neutral to light wind). The deciso moniker means decisively harder pedalling on the downhill and decisively easier pedallling on the uphill... smooth, even effort.

Rolling out sometime between 6:30 and 7pm. Will ride for 1, maybe 2, hours.

Hey folks -

My Tuesday night tempo will be on hiatus this week. 20 degrees and windy is just too rough for my soft skin. Actually I'm on the proctoring schedule for the extended time testing room which means I probably won't be leaving Bushwick until pretty late so I'm going to hit the trainer in the warmth of my kitchen in the morning.

If anyone is up for leading the ride I was thinking tomorrow could be a simple 2x30 minutes tempo with a 10-15 minute recovery. My guess is you'll be shivering after 5 minutes of recovery time and ready to start again.

Tuesday tempo will be back this week. The weather looks warm (45 degrees) and it should be dry (20% chance of rain).

We will do 2x30 with a 10 minute recovery. I'll continue for some straight up endurance riding afterwards to push the total duration up to 2 hours.

This is an all are welcome workout. You can control your effort by drafting, or we can split into smaller groups and regroup during the recovery interval.

Meeting time, 6PM grand army plaza.

If you can't make it that early, just jump in the group as we come by.
Bump! Be there.

can't, gotta take care of the kid. good night for the tempo though...
mperlberg, if work allows, I will join today as well.

fuck that. that rain was freezing. hitting the rollers.
Ditto :(
was wondering why i didn't see you guys.  i got there late (6:15?) due to a group meeting running over. some knave creepishly sucked my wheel said he'd not seen any kissena despite having been there for an hour.

the rain was offputting but it was good to get outside.

i'm staying inside tonight; looks like windy rain and i don't feel like wiping my bike down again.  rollers!

Hey folks - I'm only riding today if the roads are dry - I don't need to be shivering and cold.

I will post around 5:15 after I get off the subway with a message if the workout is on or if I'm heading to trainer-land.
@mperlberg - hey if you have 5 after you ride let us know how the roads are. I'm planning to do an hour, on the later side (8-8:30 ish).....

The road looks mostly dry, but I'm going to stay inside on the trainer. I would be careful on the places where it tends to puddle as it could turn to ice as the sun goes down.

Yeah, was snowing a bit when I got off the train. Didn't risk it.....
Tuesday tempo. 6pm gap. Please rsvp. 1x45 minutes tempo.
I'll be there but might be late, so don't wait for me. There's still melting snow, so strap on fenders if you have 'em.
Work permitting, I'll be there at six at the triangle in my FredFluo jacket.  I realize that "work permitting" isn't much of an RSVP, but it's all I've got.

Excited to see what this tempo business is all about.  When I asked Neil about it, he got so excited that he nearly ran over a jogger.  ;)
If anything, every weekday im at prospect park around 6:00 am doing the morning hustle before class. Anyone else riding around there at that time? The more the merrier.
Weather looks a bit warmer and drier this week so I'll probably be out there this early most days.
I was there this morning at 6am.  Until I'm kitted up, I'm in a blue and black jacket on a green and white Trek (with fenders).  Always happy to ride with others.  I won't be out there consistently until it warms up a bit, though.
Just FYI, I'm usually doing the AM thang this month too, as my evenings are full. You'll usually find me out 7:30 – 8:30am-ish.
Park is almost 100% dry right now, fyi
Going to the park at 9pm tonight. Tempo.
Fun night. Me Brendan whitey and john.

45 mins tempo. 1 sprint. Brendan has a kick. Good to know.
First tempo, now kick! So many terms to learn... Had fun tonight, looking forward to next time!
