Oh, and SWEET LORD ALMIGHTY the Osmo recovery drink (mixed with Vanilla Almond milk, as prescribed) tastes so good it will drive you mad.

Oh, and "Other Johnston" aka "Kyle" is goddamn fast.  He's the one on the left.

They're ripping us off.  I'm glad we have the better, more stylish Johnston.

told ya.
Looks EPIC!!!!
Ok so I'm often in the chase group, but after just two days I never wanna ride in NYC again. This place is amazing. Leaving your lungs halfway down the hills and grinding away amongst the beautiful weather and terrain is like a dream come true. Haven't done anything like this since Colorado in 2006. Huge massive big infinity props to Ryan for planning the routes and leading rides that suit almost everyone here. I can barely explain how wonderful this is.
Chase group my ass.  "Fatboy" left us all for dead today and rode with the Greyhounds.  He's got a V12 under all that Rapha gear.
I need 11:30 of music to accompany the descent video from today.  Suggestions?

This is amazing.

I have been lamenting missing this trip...until today...when this picture occurred.  So happy to be in my team kit when it happened.

The Spooky stole the show...take that Chinese carbon !!!!

almost 80 miles with 7100 ft of climbing. Left my spleen on the first hill but the next two were less steep. Again perfect weather with wonderful views and fun descents. Not getting honked at and buzzed by cars is so nice, I'll have a hard time getting reaquainted with NYC agressive a-holes again. Wish you were here, baby!

I'm sure you guys in Cali are on the Facebook and what not, but I found it amusing that the Mengoni FB page has pictures of Al, mentions he's in California, and Rene training locally and I thought of a new tagline for us.

Making Your Team Better.

Today was pretty special. Great way to wrap up the hard riding days.

Ryan, as usual, absolutely crushed all the climbs. Very impressive stuff to be able to do that over 3 really tough climbs all over 5 miles.

Also, big thanks to Ryan for organizing.

Huge props to all the KCC riders. Everyone is holding their own, no long waits at the tops of the climbs. Very good group to ride with.

Fist bumps all around; this has been a splendid trip.

I got lots of descending video again today; you all will have to wait until I am back in Brooklyn with something bigger than this shoelace through which to upload things to see them though.
Today I decided to skip the leg ripping climbs that the rest of the group was embarking on to do an accelerated 1day intro certification course at the LA Velodrome down in Carson.

So glad I did! I really can't believe how magical an indoor 250meter Olympic velodrome appears in person. From the Siberian pine smell to the scale of the track and sports center here, it's epic. It's 45degree banking elicits pure fear until you just give in to Physics and let it do it's thing. It's so nuts up on the rails. I think I'm in love :)

Going to try to go back once more before flight back.
Some more photos from today.

Came to Calabasas for recovery breakfast. Hincapie came over to introduce himself!

Huge thanks to @Ryan for again wrangling such an awesome camp. This year was the best yet. Don't even want to think about dealing with the snow or my trainer ever again.
Thanks for the thanks, all. It was my pleasure. Lots of great, gutsy riding by everyone involved.

Who is Hincapie?  Did he want to join Kissena?

David we obviously need the full story.
Enough about the Big Footed Doper.

Want to know how tired my legs are?

Real tired.  Good times, y'all.
