I went with something akin to Giro's Me2.  But I'm sure that Bell and even Specialized has a helmet that will fit a tiny head and is relatively light.  Generally, I find the skate-style lids are relatively heavy.  

John, can't remember exactly where you live, but yesterday Peter and I were exploring the new "Cowboy" playground on 93rd and CPW in the park. Maybe next time we can do a meet up?

No "usually" but Peter is out of school for August, so I have two extra days a week to go on adventures. I'll post here the next time we're planning an out and about. I think next week sometime!

Bike race weekends with the family are THE BEST!

In today's edition of "family man," I must report that while I was getting ready/racing my ITT, Sarah drove Peter to the local airport and they watched men working on planes, he met a pilot, and then watched an airplane take off from the 1 runway, country airport. He LOVED it. He's crazy about planes and trains. Then we went to a playground after his nap.

Unfortunately, no pics of today's adventure. But here are a few from Iron Hill from a few weeks back. Great event too.

Anyone get the Lego Club magazine?

I mean, do any of your kids get the Lego Club magazine.

I ask because consumption.  A holiday week "treat" will be going to legoland, and the mag has discount coupons.  Since we get the mag, I have one. I'm looking for another to help subsidize both kids.

BPA free plastics are ok? Not so fast.

Today we set up a child bike seat on my wife's bike, and bought a new helmet. We couldn't wait for Adrian to experience his first bike ride. Soon we'll go out for a more official spin. We also bought a fixation for my commute bike. 
Also, he says a few words in both English and Croatian, as well as his own language.  Bicycles are called 'goodjyo'. It's a lot of fun walking down the street with him, pointing to bicycles and hearing him say 'goodjyo! goodjyo!'. If I ever start a bicycle brand, I know what to call it. 
And tomorrow the Tour de Romandie finishes in town, so he'll also see his first bike race. It's a momentous bicycle weekend for the family!

I think you might find the frame size might be a little small to get your arm through for shouldering.

I think Redline quit the CX business, and are focusing on BMX exclusively now, but there may be a few in stock or in warehouses from the 2015 model year.

Just call Ilya / Kasia and ask what they can get you in a 24" cx bike. I bet they could get you a dback or other brand bike from their distributors

In the department of bad ideas....

I was coming back over the GWB Sunday and a guy and a kid were riding hybrid-type bikes.  The guy had a leash running from his seatpost to the head tube of the kid's bike. I got to see them take the corners of the tower on the Jersey side.  I suggested it might be a bit dangerous.  The guy told me he knew what he was doing.

le sigh.

I think baby is going to be strong enough to be able to ride on a rack seat soon.  When did you all start with the ride alongs?

If i had a nickel for every poorly conceived bit of "learn to bike help" I see I'd have enough for a new carbon frame. best to just close your eyes and think of unicorns. 

Jules does it the old fashioned way: following his offspring on their velocipedes in his Phaeton pulled by a pair of Friesian geldings and occasionally providing encouragement at the business end of his buggy whip.
