OH SNAP !  double points are back this year???  SWEET !
Actually, I just made up the double points thing to get your attention Yacks.
We should certainly get Harry into silver - he's 3rd in the masters, only 2 points down from first. Once we get that, let's get him in yellow. We should have 3 of the 4 jerseys.
I am happy to play any sort of role within the Green or Polka Dot Jersey teams. I can sweep, lead-out, shepherd, or just make life hard for the other riders/teams, though with my current level of fitness, just staying around for a whole race is a struggle.

Great example of an opportunity to create ungodly havock for the first half.  Nobody but *you* knows what your fitness is :)  The other guys all assume we're fresh off the Tour of the Gila!
What would really be amazing would be someone to help me get back on for the climb after the sprint. Sometimes it's no problem and other times I feel like I'm going to die.

If you plant yourself on the middle right side going up the hill, the pack has to go around you and you might even get the odd push from a teammate. But yeah, I don't think there's much more suffering to be had than getting up that hill after a 1200w effort.
That suffering looks like this...(the polished ti frame can't mask the "Ohh" face)
bump!

Registration seems to be going fast.  Not as fast as Ryan is going to scamper up that hill.
I am in for a early morning beatdown in the 4s

Andy I'll sit back and TT you back on
i'm in.
@jules hopefully we don't have to do that but ya never know! Thanks!

whoaa pro123 only has 1 spot left. people are having prospect park withdrawal.

Kissena has 12 guys signed up. What are we going to do...14 laps? If we don't have someone off the front going bat-shit crazy EVERY lap, we're probably not doing it right.

(Okay, that's an over-simplified exaggeration, but you know...we gotta race this race like we mean it.)
I wrote Charlie an email requesting to transfer my prereg from the 5s to 4s, but haven't heard back.  Any idea who I should email just to make sure I'm good to race?

Eric Ragot

Keith Snyder

David Stokes

J.P. Partland

Marc Bertucco

Joaquin C de Baca

Ryan Johnston

Daniel Hubbard

John Malcolmson

Michael Perlberg

I'm Ryan's shelter. I'll tell at you to help out when I/we need it.
One person to help Eric with the leadout.  One person to sweep Ryan's wheel.

If Ryan wins the first KoM, then it's in our interest to see a break go--provided his closest rivals aren't in it.  So we need to know who those rivals are before we start.

If it's looking like its sticking together for the second KoM, then we need more of what we did for the first.  And when it's done, we should be detonating the race.

If all that fails, we need a sprint strategy for the last lap.  Who is up for sprinting?

As discussed after the last L&C round, I'm available to help Ryan up the hill for either or both of the KoM's.  I'll leave it to Ryan or Eric as to whether that amounts to (1) keeping the pace high, (2) full throttle accelleration/lead out at some point along the hill, (3) sweeping wheels, or (4) something else entirely.  Lemme know.

We also need someone keeping an eye on early moves - Ryan scored his first 3 points that way last race. But we need to mark those moves just in case. I won't be ready to help there as I'm working registration and won't be warmed up enough to go at those full gas.

PS - can someone give me some intel on this start list. Who are these people? Where are the regulars? Breakaway threats? I NEED TO KNOW.
@mperlberg - go here: http://www.road-results.com/?n=racers&sn=pred

Paste into the "confirmed riders" url field this: https://www.bikereg.com/NET/Confirmed/18870

Voila.
I'll be working KOM, so anyone that wants a magical placing, I'm still accepting donations in the form of Di2. With muffins.
I will find your carbon loving wheel....
Looks like a pack fodder kind of field.

Good attackers are:
Ricky Garguilo of BikeReg
Chad Butts of Endurancewerx
Mike Novemsky of DNK Cycling
Tom Bencivengo of WS United
Stephen Dioslaki of Metra
Glenn Ferreira of Metra
Rob Lattanzi CRCA/Lupus
Matt Seaton of Rapha

Everhard Paredes will try to keep yellow.  Don't know if his one teammate can really help him.

Stalin will probably go for both KoM and points sprints.  Cesar is going for points sprints.  Dioslaki is in for points as well.  I guess Major Taylor is going for KoM, but I'm not sure who their guy is.

Butts might be trying for overall--he was in the break last time.
Here are the standings:

http://spasport.com/2013_lucarelli_&_castaldi_cup_overall_standings.htm

I'd count on Stalin for contesting the KOM for sure, and he's a threat. Rodriguez is fast, fast, fast, but he's not signed up. Neither is Amaury Perez, who is in 4th. I'm not sure about Major Taylor - there was a guy who contested Stalin and I last week but we crushed him. So I don't think he's got the legs.

So really, its just Stalin to mark.

If its me vs. him, then the worst case scenario for me is a match sprint over the top of the hill with fresh legs. He'll beat me 10 out of 10 times in that situation. So I've got to hope my overall fitness is better, and I think there's a decent chance that's true. Which means that a crushingly hard lap, or me in a break with him, or even a long hard lead out, will work in my favor.

Charlie's advice was "just keep scoring points - if Stalin beats you on one, don't worry about it. Just keep showing up and keep scoring. That's how you win that competition."

Saturday....I'm going TURBO !
@Ryan J

Charlie is right. Just keep scoring points. You don't have to win every one. Just keep in the hunt and you'll hold onto the jersey.
