Marshal captain can arrive at the last minute before race start (6:15). There isn't anything to do before the race actually starts. Just make sure Charlie realizes you will be cutting it close so he doesn't get nervous.

You can certainly leave as soon as the 123 race is finished (~8am). Probably you could leave a little before because the chaos is much lower as the other categories finish and the 123 is the only field left on the course. But clear this with Charlie I.

Don't show up just to ride in circles - you can do that for free anytime.  Take this golden opportunity to learn about racing - commit to some goals and do you damnedest to execute.

 

4's - Speak up

I intend to counter-attack full banshee, repeatedly, starting during/after the third sprint.

Seeing that there are stronger, more experienced guys doing the attacks/chases/leadouts I assume a good role for me is being sweeper.  Who's wheel needs me?  I specialize in going slow.

@dstokes.....helpful.  thanks.  i'll be there by 5:45 or so and can stay till 123's finish....so i'm in.......

Since I'm great at letting gaps open up, I'll do sweeper duty with David.

I'm not planning on racing tomorrow. If anyone working reg wants me to take their spot, let me know. I'll make sure I'm there early enough so that as many of you as possible can get out of there and get at least a short warmup so you aren't going from trying to help crazy late riders to the line in less than a second.

Fear-not new Cat 4s! Hang tough. Do your best. For the team. For yourself. In almost no circumstances does that include cruising around, "motorpacing" in the pack, so you can say you finished your first cat 4 race.

I pretty much guarantee that after the race, you're going to talk about how the race didn't feel that much faster than the cat 5s. This always happens. I hear it year after year.

I mean, you gotta do what you gotta do, but I'm willing to bet that you will get a greater sense of satisfaction having had put in a well timed team-helping effort.

Cat 4 teammates, please be sure to thank your teammates after the race for their hard efforts! Even if they weren't there at the end.

P.S. Cat 1/2/3 teammates, please thank me after the race too. Because I'm a sad man who needs your love too.

I have a friend that has a sump pump, but I think it's pretty tiny.

Just spoke to Home Depot near Greenwood and they have a "roof pump" for rent $24/24hrs.

I don't have a car, but if someone does I'm willing to go with them to pick it up and take to the park.

I dont have a car or a big push broom but I'll come help out if someone is bringing brooms.

I can be out there at about 8:30 with a push broom.

If we don't have a generator the pumps and vacs don't do us much good.

Any chance those stop lights/street lamps have an outlet at the base we can, er, borrow?

Harry this is a golden suggestion.  If you can "sweep" Andy's wheel you'll get the leadout of your life.  Even going full blast Andy will get away from you but you'll be way ahead of your peers.

You'll have to be patient though...

ok, am on bus from PhilaPA, just caught up on L&C planning.

Much appreciated advice& PLOT for finale/finish - namely Plan-A for a sprint finish for me to line up as 'Sweeper' behind Our KCC Cat4 Finish Sprinter ie. Andy DaSilva or Duncan McKay - line-up starts at top of Park before descent on the right side, I will slot in behind Andy or Duncan (after 2 GreenJersey sprints may be too BiG an ask for Andy to also 'have it' for the super fast fast descent &motorcade across the bottom of the Park and past the Temple to Finish...if Jules could 'call it' on the road with 2 Laps to go and &organize us so we can a have Sprinter +2 for lead-out then, Plan-A(DaSilva), & Plan-B(McKay), can work.

Last L&C, i read a lead-out for Team Jordan at top of the hill climb on the BellLap and i marked a likely Jordan sprinter followed him around the park as his team lined him up on the inside-right past the Temple, with 100m togo, he was blocked, i waited then bolted past with 25m togo for 3rd.

Plan-C is jedi-warrior...i follow Chris Yacks from the Temple, w/Chris powering from 100m togo(crosswalk) to 25m togo and i Launch @25m!

Plan-D, i surf.
mean while i will-can work an early counter attack to soften-up field.

will have to recover on 3 togo.

David, I have a car and you're awesome, so let me know if you want to borrow it for an HD run.  You know where I live...     I have to hunker down over a grant tonight, though, so I can't go out myself until quiiiite late; I can probably return it if that's helpful, though.
