L&C Cup

This team shelled itself for the sprint & kom competitions yesterday.  They rode their faces off.  Between the ramp ups for the green & dots...there was no wattage left in the cottage.  This team gets a hall pass on the finale...it was that hard.  It was a privilege and an honor to be a part of it.  Team Kissena should get nothing by applause for their effort and execution.  We focused on two goals and we accomplished them.  If you try and get everything, you will end up with nothing.  Here is little idiom to explain this Adam:
'Pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered'

This idiom is used to express being satisfied with enough, that being greedy or too ambitious will be your ruin.

Oh god I just watched the second KOM vid.  I have a huge ass.  I'm surprised Brendan could see around me.  It practically blocks out the sun.
Remind me to draft off of you @Jeff..

I am very thankful to those Kissenas who have the attention span/patience/OCD compulsion to sit through an entire video of lycra'd asses doing circles in a park to pick out the highlights.  Really helpful to see how those KOM trains looked from another perspective. Thanks for posting that up, Hi-Viz!  Keep 'em coming.

God, I'm out of racing shape - watching myself chug-a-lug up that hill and die before the top is cringe-worthy.

For those keeping score at home, Andy will mathematically clinch the series green jersey with one more point (assuming Chris Young has been upgraded)
Chris Young has been upgraded ergo Andy wins !!!!! ergo ergo Kissena wins the green jersey 5 straight years !!!!!!

Still needs one more point to clinch. If one of the guys with 3 points won every sprint for the rest of the series and Andy got nothing, the tie would go to the person who won every sprint for the rest of the series.

Next race we should get Andy that lone point and then focus on winning some races and keeping Yacks in dots.

Forget the one point. Get Andy the win.
Ill get that one point and lock it up. Then ride for yacks as long as possible.
This is going to be a bad week however as I'm moving.
Sweet Jeezus ! The green leading the dots !!! It's gonna be EPIC !!!!

Victor Chan better be there.

I'll make sure I'm wearing a clean kit.

And keeping my mouth closed going up the hill.
Anyone want to hit the beach after the L&C Cup this weekend?!
Only if Vlad is topless

Not sure if I can promise that. So I'll put you down for a maybe. But to sway you I can bring that shirtless pic from the park last week.
Well that got awkward fast.
Ah ha. My plan has come to fruition...

Coffee and muffins for anyone who can photobomb a field shot by doing the Joseph Ducreux yawning pose.

Did that guy need facial reconstruction too? Looked like his nose was on the side of his face when I got there.
Aside from his broken nose I didn't see any additional road rash on his face.
There is a point in every sprint where you have to stay put...the line you have is the ONLY line.  If the guy you are drafting behind spits the bit...your sprint is over.  Charlie might want to consider having another camera film the sprint from where all these crashes have been happening.  If you leave your line in the sprint, you get suspended.
You'd think that not losing your face and destroying your gear would be incentive enough without having to throw in threats of suspension...

BTW even after the multiple, repeated warnings before the race from Charlie and race officials, I saw another dropped rider chugging along in the joggers lane.  I yelled at him from across the road and surprised him enough that he crossed over to the right hand side of the road.  I didn't report him because he immediately complied, but next time do I tell the officials?  I think he's an unattached rider...short and "rotund" older guy with like vintage Oakley goggles, the ones that look like ski sunglasses with a strap.
@Dave - this guy you speak of.. was he wearing a lime green and yellow kit (almost like the old Phonak kit)?  His glasses is fluorescent yellow?  If yes, he should know better.  He races all the time as a Cat 4.
Yep, that's the dude.
eventually, my gopro will catch them all...
Does your Gopro carry a laser gun??
um.  hi everyone.  a lot happens when one is away from the internet for a week... yes, it appears to have been me in the joggers lane in that picture that everyone has their knickers in a twist about.  a member of the kissena board was kind enough to contact me about it last week though, so at least i knew something was up.  first, my apologies to the club, to charlie, the park, and of course the joggers who are the most at risk of offense.  I have no excuse, and can only say that it must have been a momentary lapse of reason, as i don't recall the event.  looking closely at the image, i am fairly certain that i am just about at the bottom of the PP hill, (not near the top of the big down hill, as was suggested.  look at the big rock on the right).  I suspect that I had gone up the hill to warm up, and gone back down the joggers lane out of old habit, without thinking.  when i started riding in the park about 5 years ago, it was a common practice to to hill repeats that way, and i think i must have been so nervous about the start of the race that the recent emphasis on traffic rules must have been absent from the early morning brain.  in any event, again, my apologies for being one of the brick headed riders out there who give a bad name to all bikers.  it was certainly not done out of scofflaw intent, and if i must wear a hairshirt jersey to the next race, i must.  if there is some other form of grovelling i should do, such as surrendering my person to park authorities, i would willingly go forth.  however, i am likely to go armed with video and photographs of cars in the park before seven AM, stunt bike riders in the jogger lanes, people with cellphones walking blindly across the road, and whatever other shenanigans you see on a daily basis in the park which seem to garner zero attention from the park authorities.  thank you to those who said kind and supportive things about me, and a bronx cheer to those who would pillory the mere mortals among us.  in the end, i suppose the proper penance would be some time wearing a sandwich board with the image on it while walking around the park reminding riders not to ride in the joggers lane. sigh.  mea culpa.
The way things are playing out with moving , it is starting to look like I won't be able to race l&c this week. Could you guys put on the agenda to win a sprint/ make the sure the same guy does not win twice? Brendan? Jim? Dan? Thanks
