I count as two people due to largesse of ass.
4's beware Thomas Warren of CIS. he won floyd last tuesday on a solo break. if he gets away early do not assume he will be brought back.  employ malcolmson's kiwisdom: if you don't see the pace car, there's someone up the road.

he rides a giant and is on CIS.  i think dura ace wheels?
Random question for reg:

So how hardball should I be with guys who don't have their licenses?  Especially 5 minutes before start.  Ricky Lowe is notorious for showing up 2 minutes before start and almost never has a license.  I know who he is, but still, it's annoying.

Do we let people we know get away with it or not?  When I've played hardball, they just end up going "Hey, Charlie! Hey, man! It's me!" and he usually says "ok" for guys like Ricky and Stalin.

He's the state TT champion.  He isn't going anywhere alone...

@Owens it's a question for Charlie.  Frankly people's USAC status is public knowledge and from my perspective a race promoter who doesn't have access to it is just behind the curve of best-practices.

The guys that do Watermelon just ask for your drivers licence, scan the barcode with a laser, and print out a waiver for you to sign on the spot.

Are Ricky & Stalin's licences likely to expire week to week?  Are you checking each registrant against the most recent USAC banned/suspended list?

I'm much more interested in playing hardball with respect to breaking park rules.
where did everyone get this state TT stuff from?  i heard it tossed around but usa cycling for his license just says he won the "Jonathan Dechau Memorial Time Trial"?  it seems like a big TT race but nothing suggests the sort of geographical qualifying rounds to call the winner a state champion.  anyone can register online. http://www.gvccracing.com/?page_id=134.  what am i missing?
No idea...

^ Zing of the day. ^
haha...i saw that. but it also has a link to reg.  so the race only includes people who register.  and includes anyone who registers.  it's not the result of any sort of statewide qualifying process that most people assume exists when they say someone is, say, a high school state champion.  my curiosity persists
Sorry I've been off forum today. I'll help where you need me. Interested in sweeping up the hill too. Maybe for the second? Let me know the plan and I'll execute.
Well....hop on the back of the train.  You can park yourself right behind Tito.

We have David Yang from the boards to the start finish

From there Mark takes over from the start finish to the base of the climb

Then Jules goes as fast as he can for as long as he can up the climb
I hope to jump around Jules close to the top, before I can see the finish flag. (I will move to right side of the road)  I am sprinter, not a climber so the closer I get to the top before I jump, the better.   When I jump...don't follow me, let the gap go.

If Erik from Ride Brooklyn passes me at any point, I am going to dive onto his wheel....so leave me room if you plan on shadowing him.

We are going to pull this off tomorrow....you know why?  BECAUSE WE LIVE HERE !!!!!!

I don't understand these "state championships" for amateur cyclists. Its not like every good rider shows up. So, you can win your category against maybe weak competition and then you get to say you're a state champion for a year. Awesome!
Age group stuff. Just like nats. So youre masters state champ cetc etc.
Time trial is supposed to be by age, no category used. Its not mass start

Ok cool. If you need me to line up on the KOM train ahead of you for either lap I'm there.

I checked the overall standings and I'm sitting at 8th, five points from the podium. The race pays 10 deep at the end of the series. I want to try to scoop up some more points at the finish (by break or freelance sprint) to move up in the standing. Third place pays 120 big ones! That's $8 a piece...just think what you could do with that kind of paper.

#bigtime

The 2nd kom is where u make your move...."worked once...oughta work again...right".  Paul Crewe (Burt Reynolds)

Reminder: New Member ride in the park after the races. 45 social minutes. Might be a big group so help will be needed.
FUCKING RAIN CAN GTFO ANYTIME NOW...
I'm psyched to watch you guys rock this train, will hang out by KOM.  Rock it Kissenas!
What happened?
Breaks up the road for both green jersey sprints. I don't think anyone with previous points were in them. You should have a lock.

Yacks took both KOM's

Great racing in the 4's today. Lots of attacking and Kissenas in every move.

I think a couple top tens (Brendan and Jeff C?) - but not sure of exact places. (Edit - Apparently a W! How did I miss that? Nice work dude and thanks for the muffins.)
Owens hit&run on the way to park
Chris won both dot premes
Rigby with a W!
Awesome news! @brendanrigby !!! @twoyacks !!!
Owens his and run? Is he OK?
Anymore news on Owens?
Anymore news on Owens?
go to the thread on getting injured.  I thought it should have been in the Close Encounters thread.
Brendan won by at least a length; not sure about any others in the top 10.
Guys pls email me names of everyone who showed up for the new members ride. Thanks!
Brendan is the cat's pajamas....he dragged me up the climb on the 2nd kom....I don't think I would have reached the break with out him....WOLVERINES !!!!!!!
Nice work @Brendan and @Chris (and to everyone else who rode today)!

This beef jerky (powder?) is kinda awesome actually.
Here he is...
Good racing today. If we didn't instigate every break we certainly had representation in every single one. We worked a bit to get the CIS guy back in the last lap and got him after the parking lot. Brendan was in good position for the sprint and pulled it off amazingly. I got a few ducats for 6th but had to leave since my folks are in town and staying with us. I'll buy some muffins next time. Good time today.
