^^^^ this guy is on fire!!!!!
Please please please, do not let Carl Sketch Nelson win the series.

That would be "Terrible, mon, terrible"
If you really want some damage, how about a "catch Kissena" final cat 4 race where we line everyone up on the line and attack from the gun.  10-man TTT for the race.  If you can get a few seconds by GAP on the first lap, several seconds by the end of the first lap, and then hold the gap for another three or four laps, you'll demoralize the field and they'll quit.
^ i would love this.
That would be So.Awesome.
Alternately we could tape sparklers to yacks shoes and ignite them before
KOM one.

Same effect, far less effort.

We really do need to do this at least once...
thing is, we'd have to be 100% sure that it'd work.  the sad trombone sounds as 10 TTTing kissenas get pulled back by the field would be too much to bear.
And the heckles on NYVelocity would echo for the ages

BTW the pre-reg 4 field is only up to 37 (38 if you include my name stuck in the 5s).

P123 is up to 67.  Wowza.

@Edwin and @Joshua Edwards - you guys racing in the 5s?  Looks like a pretty small field at under 20 pre-reg.  @Kayt want to give the 5s a try?  You were looking strong during R&A!
I can help reg.  5:45?
Try 5a.  Race starts at 6a.
Oh, and I'm in for 5s.
I'm in for Saturday, just didn't get it together to pre-register. Looking forward to it.
The rumble goes down on the 1st KOM lap 5....Anybody not getting in the move should hit the climb hard the first 4 laps to soften up the field.  I volunteer to hit the climb on lap 5....I'de like someone to take me from the start/finish to the base of the climb on that lap.  Any takers?  Lets get a head count on who is going to do what tonight....everyone gets a role.  It's like an ensemble cast movie....But which movie ????  hmmm... We are going to put the smack down on the field tomorrow...The last time a beating like this happened the soc's were getting their cardigans fed to them by the greasers !  To quote Dallas Winston, "You know a rumble ain't a rumble without me !"

Im going back and forth between "platoon" and "Laurel and hardy go bye
bye." But that's just me.

Good luck in your quest for glory

Myles...if things go sour on the KOM lap....Johnny's got a little surprise for em...
Myles...there is a role you would be perfect for....
My power level right now is at "kitten" so will not do much damage, but I'll attempt to go hard during the first half of the race before Yaks and co go for the split.  After you guys hopefully get a clean break I'm hoping to cover moves and demoralize chase groups by wheelsucking,"Sorry, bro, I have a guy up there."

Category 4 riders:

In last week's Lucarelli & Castaldi Cup race, the Category 1-2-3 field caught your field from behind with 2 laps to go.  Your field starts exactly 1 minute behind the Category 1-2-3 field so the Category 1-2-3 field had to gain about 8 minutes in 25 miles to catch you.

Last week's Category 1-2-3 field was the smallest of the series and they were not racing any faster than normal.  However, the Category 4 field appeared to be racing very slowly.

While I certainly cannot tell riders to race a certain way, please understand that if you choose to race very slowly or negatively, the result is that you might be caught by another field which could be very disruptive to your race.

I realize that some of you are battling for the Overall, KOM, Sprint and Best Master competitions but in reality it's only a handful of riders in contention.  In my opinion, the rest of you should be going for the "stage win" - just like in the Tour de France where only a few riders are actually in contention to win the overall title.  That means using the post KOM and Sprints to launch counter-attacks, taking advantage of teams fighting for overall titles to launch successful breakaways etc.  Doing everything in your power to not let the race come down to a fieldsprint if you are not a sprinter.

When I began promoting races in Prospect Park 10 years ago, the first thing I did was eliminate the "4th field" so only 3 fields were on the course at once.  It was done for safety reasons and to allow for fair racing.  99% of the time there are no catches.

Again, how fast you race is up to you.  Just keep in mind that if you choose to race slowly you risk getting caught by another field.

It's been a great series - let's make tomorrow's final race of the series a fun and safe race.

I will see you in the morning.

In fairness to the IV's, the I/II/III race was on the fast side of things.  But by less than one minute at the end.
Hmm.  I got the email and checked my strava for a couple of the L&C races I've been in.  While my average speeds will be different from others (due to magnet placement and the fact that YOU are faster than me), the speed on Sunday was inline with other races.  And we got passed twice, by two separate breaks, which was a little confusing.

5/11/2013
Average speed 23.9

6/29/2013
average speed 24.9

7/28/2013
Average speed 24.0

But if he wants a fast race, I think we should accommodate.  All aboard the KCC train, yo!
Bruce,
The winner of last week's race averaged 26.8mph.
That is fast....
we have: Joaquin, Keith, Stokes, Perlberg, Rene, myself.  Currently 95 riders are registered.  I assume the field will fill up.

Foundation looks to be out in force.  And I expect they're honing their form for Mengoni the following Saturday.  I assume the same can be written of Mengoni's Cesar Marte.  And Jermaine Burrowes of United seems to be in his best form of the season.  Everhard Paredes might have the series locked up and he looks to be flying solo. I think Diolsaki has the points and old man jerseys locked up as well, and he's only got one teammate registered.  Stalin is in the KoM lead and I think it's pretty safe.  Ricky Garguilo of BikeReg is a wildcard--he's got great legs when he's in form, but I don't think he's been focusing on racing or training this summer.  Chad Butts will also be a factor.

FWIW, if I won both KoMs or both sprints, I'd be on the podium for those competitions.  But I don't think it's worth throwing all our resources into chasing them.

There are the ingredients for a big break that could take the day, as it did last time.
I will try to show up and register day of. Motivation is low...
