L&C Cup

Okay, I'll do my best to not give more life to the zombie thread. Weather's getting better, riders going to Cali, let's all turn our frustrations and focus to great rides on both coasts and get prepped to do what we actually do best. Namely kick some tail!
I was hoping the banter would continue...in the spirit of all great societies being destroyed from within :)
I just tagged a @Twoyaks comment with "insightful" so clearly the end is nigh.
Oh it is ON NOW Jules !!!
^yeah, but which is which?
Tough call.

Godzilla vs Monster Zero

The battle continues. . .

Rodan all the way.

Can I be Jack Burton?
I just got an email that the date of the first race changed to April 5. Same day as Battenkill. What I get for registering early?

Email Charlie. He will credit you for another LC cup race.
Anybody going to the Branchbrook race this weekend- I'm looking to get a ride and can pay gas $$. I'm located in Hell's Kitchen- 46th and 9th ave. My race goes off at 9am but I am fine with leaving super early if need be. Thanks!
HEADS UP THE FIRST RACE DATE HAS BEEN CHANGED TO APRIL 5th

Whoah, whoah, whoah. L&C is now a Branchbrook race?

L&C is the ASO of the Brooklyn racing scene... :P
Branchbrook needs leaders jerseys...that would be hot. Instead of Kom, maybe they could have a best track stand competition

L&C Cat 4 tactics and teamwork talk and practice at the Velodrome 3/23

Now that the Kissena racing season has started with a bang at Grant’s Tomb we can start to think about tactics for the L&C cup series.

Having the date of the first L&C cup race pushed back to April 5th gives us the opportunity to meet, plan strategies and work on skills.

Given that we have a new mix of racers with varied teamwork skills, a large Kissena presence in the Cat 4 fields, as well as many goals (placing, jerseys, series points) it makes sense for us to meet to discuss roles and strategy and practice leadouts.

JP has agreed to let us piggyback on his “The Kissena Early Season Day at the Velodrome” on Sunday, March 23rd, at 9am after the Spring Series race in CP.

In addition to whatever JP has planned, my initial sense is for us to address the following (suggestions welcome):

1.     Identify team and individual goals
2.     Identify strategies towards attaining these goals
3.     Review how to apply these strategies during an L&C race
4.     Review how to communicate effectively during the race
5.     Practice lead outs
6.     Review blocking and other team strategies.

Until then, we can share our goals and ideas for the series

I believe that this is the year Kissena can put together a legitimate train in the finale.  I think a 3 man lead out with one or 2 guys sweeping could get it done.  If I'm not mistaken Konrad or Brendan would be our guy for the finishes.  I would volunteer to take the first huge pull to string it out.  What say ye?
Sorry to inform you of this, but Konrad will not be partaking in the L&C festivities this year. He was awarded his upgrade to Cat 3 this morning.
Great news for Konrad and the L&C 123 squad, but not so much for the 4s. Of course, this is the best way to keep the numbers of Kissena racers lower in the Cat 4 field: win, upgrade, repeat.

Maybe it is time for old man yacks to go after a jersey of a different color.....
Yack, I'll help you, Brendan, and or Wes to grab that jersey. LMK. I'll be happy to put in everything I got to lead you guys out.
Thanks fellas....I have yet to turn a pedal in anger this year & I know not what my sprint is like.  Prospect sprints are a bit too dicey for my sensibilities. I am being held together with gorilla glue & duct tape...I've got one bad knee and a lower back that dictates how my day is going to be.  If I hit the tarmac at speed, I'm likely not getting back up again.  Though I harbor fantasies of getting away on the last lap, lead out duty is likely my calling.

Those are some hairy palms Jules...not judging you....juuuust sayin

@yacks there are many ways to get results besides field sprints....no reason with 20 mins at 275 watts you can't roll in the breakaway.... and perhaps win from it
I'm coming with a quiver full of arrows this year
    Boom !
    whos joining me in cat5
BOOM is right @Yaks.  This one is for you and the Guns...
