Bump

Reminder that the L&C Cat 4 tactics and teamwork talk will take place during JP’s “Early Season day at the Velodrome” this Sunday (3/23) at 9am. We will be heading over there after the Spring Series race in CP.

In addition to practicing lead outs we will discuss goals, strategies, and communicating during the race. Whether a veteran, or new to the team or series, come out and work on team strategies.

See you there!

"spotted jersey 4 times I say"

I hear the regional guy also awards bonus points for long flowing hair.
Just go get me my orange helmet and stay outta the way.  I plan on using my first Ride Brooklyn discount on a balaclava, that I'm going to put over your ridiculously bulbous head backwards.  I feat of strength not seen since Festivus 97

balaclava? my locks keep me naturally toasty
Can we just have a Myles vs Yaks trash talk field? I'll bring the popcorn.
Baklava?

I disagree. Donut in myle's hand is more potent. And photogenic...

Good news! The first L&C cup is this weekend and the prediction is for dry weather in the 40s. Given how much this winter has sucked, we can't ask for much more.

Bad news. Quite a few of the Cat 4 L&C crew will be Batten-killing it or getting Batten-killed on Saturday. This includes Brendan and his L&C yellow jersey dreams.

So... Let's get a Cat 4 roll call going. Respond to the forum and give everyone an idea of your fitness and goals. Even if you won't be at the first race, let everyone have a chance at sharing their goals.

If we have a smaller than usual turnout (which is likely) then we may have to back off from going for every jersey, being in every break, plus winning the race... Okay, so we weren't going to do all of these things anyway, but I wanted to see if you were paying attention.

If we are a small (for Kissena) group we are likely to want to make sure to get into (or initiate) any break in the last half of the race. The Cat 4 races rarely finish with a break and I can't recall an early break lasting to the finish. A good time to do so is after the KOM and green jersey sprints or as a counterattack just as break is getting reeled in.

Even if we don't have a sprint train we can take advantage of other teams' efforts to lead out and get some points. This is a good way to test your legs  and give the team someone to rally around to support throughout the series.

I'll be there. I felt comfortable at branchbrook over the weekend and was fairly active staying in the front. Fitness not 100% there yet but I'll be able to help this Saturday either attacking or just staying up front. I don't want commit to any jerseys at this point though.
I think I'm in.

I'll be there.
Note that alongside Battenkill, the BB Cherry Blossom race is also a conflict on the 5th. Despite that, I'll be racing at Prospect in the 123's.

I would really like to do Cherry Blossom - but will probably do L&C due to convenience and the fact that I have too much to do to be traveling around.
Likely at Prospect...in the 1/2/3's
I'm going to hit cheery blossom again. Late start time makes body and wife happy.
