indeed....
in for cat 5
Reg'd.  Now I'm committed (sounds mature, eh?).  Chug-a-lug from the gun, baby!

Assuming I don't get run over on the way to work registration....
Looks like I'll be in Prospect for the 1/2/3's.
Anybody going to pick up their kit at Ride Brooklyn this week AND going to Prospect on Sat?   I would be much obliged if you could pick up my kit.  I would prefer if my 1st appearance in the 1/2/3's is not in my old kit...which looks like the Toxic Avenger threw up on it.
No takers?  than take this !

I think I may try to race in the 4s at L&C, then run over to newark to make it to the 3/4s at cherry blossom.
I might do the same.
How would you guys get there? Path train?
PATH train from WTC is close on the weekends for the foreseeable future.
Take NJ Transit to Newark Penn.
PATH train from 14th requires going to Hoboken, changing trains and then doubling back on your route in order to get to Newark. Yes, you can do it, but the NJ Transit from Penn Station is a LOT more efficient.

There are plenty of good reasons to race a ton, doubling up when possible. But there are also good reasons to chill a bit and not do every race possible.

I'm not saying that Aaron or you should or shouldn't...his enthusiasm naturally brings out the cautionary voice in me though. So really, I just want everyone to think about why they're doing this or that and make sure that it makes sense for them.
there's always the spring series in cp the next day.
@Aaron. Forget the PATH train. It's broken.

NJTransit from NY Penn Station to Newark is the way to go. 15 min bike ride from Newark (which confusingly is also called Penn Station) to Branchbrook.
In.

It's looking like it will be a club race.  I signed up because I wanted to start racing but don't yet know where my fitness is, so thought this small group would be a good chance to find out.  Also, while there are a lot of KCC members already signed on, the turnout is looking pretty shallow.  I like this race, and this series, and wanted to support it by signing up.

It's clear we can control the race in the 4s, but I'm finding tension between doing so and getting 10 KCC top spots, and, because we are a dominant team, making sure the race is fun and competitive for everyone who signed up (and couldn't or didn't want to go to Battenkill).

I'm trying to figure out how to reconcile these two.  Does that mean staying off the front so we don't 'appear' to be blocking?  Or does that mean everyone else should adopt rule 5 as we take control of the race?  At the very least, I'm going to be saying hello and good morning to the cat 4s who show up, so that we all have a friendly start.
I say 5 man ttt practice in rotating crews

Fyi reg closes in 4 hours.
We already have 9 reg'ed so I'm on the fence.
Sorry Craig, I'm going defer to L&C this weekend. I love branch brook but after 5 consecutive weeks of racing there i need a change of scenery.
@Wes, my name is still on there even though I requested my pre-reg to be moved to the one after.  Take my spot, do the race, gobble up points.  Let's win the yellow this year.
Bruce brings up a good point. As of now, we will be 29% of the field (if no one else signs). I don't think throwing a Kissena off the front one after another attacking the field will be the most sportsmanlike behaviour. How about we just race without any team effort?
That won't work. People will just criticize you for not working well together as a team.
I suggest you send people off on breaks and then everyone else just stay off the front of the field (no blocking). When/if the break comes back to the field, be ready for the counter attack (again no blocking). Make it a positive race effort. Kissena should be involved in all of the break-a-way attempts and work with other teams to keep the break off the front. A lot of blocking, thwarting bridge attempts and controlling the field makes it a negative race and people will curse you.

How about this?
Team a-5 dude shoots who time trial incessantly, have a tremendous crash on
the downhill, but escape all injuries by miraculous leaps into the bushes.
Team b-4 dudes who constantly set up for a sprint, but can't figure out who
the sprinter is, and a random 50 dude that comes out of nowhere to win.
Team c-5 guys who can swear in Spanish and are willing to dope on an
exclusive combination of cough drops dog medicine and 5 hour energy
Team d-5 guys who give precisely 0 fuc#s, go out with me to Box till 430am
and come to the line region of cheap cigarettes and Gin.
Team e -5guys willing to race in tutu's, and recite the score from the hms
pinafore throughout the race.

Itll be great. Provide an out of towner with a true new york experience
while being spandex clad.

Thoughts?

I'm also racing.

Happy to Fredlityze myself for this one. I'm low on fitness so it's mostly for training and to have some fun.

The question is do I still have any non-Kissena kit lying around.....
Now it's 9 KCC in a 25 man field. 36%! We better win this Saturday.  hahaha
You're on team e

I'm wearing all black Hakka kit.

just race hard, don't go crazy on blocking. put 2 guys in the break. race hard. if bridge attempts happen get in them and DO work if the break is far enough away. don't shut down bridge attempts by any means.
