Weight Loss Discussion
Like Mike, I usually have a pretty good idea of where I am by the fit of my work shirts. They're a bit tight at the moment.

I have 2 snacks a day (10:30 and 2:30) consisting of a 1/4 cup of nuts and some fruit. I find these really help me get to lunch and dinner without that overwhelming hunger that causes the dreaded COOKIE MONSTER SYNDROME

@ Jules
What time are you working out during this plan?
I'm trying to limit calories during the day. It's actually pretty easy during the day at work since I don't really have more than 5 minutes to scarf something down. The key is having something decent on hand.
Mornings usually. If a workout interrupts a snack time that's ok because I'm eating diligently on the bike. An early morning workout happens before breakfast unless it's more than an hour in duration.mperlberg said:

pants too loose around waist - down to last hole on belt, waist pinching up more than ever. thighs a bit tight on pants. ribs starting to show ala April ribs. Face getting thinner.

Hey man, if you're going feast on some nut butter choco goodness... get Brad's Organic Cashew Butter and dip pieces of your favorite high-end chocolate bar into it. If the extra creaminess of the cashew butter is too much for you, then Brad makes a super nice almond butter too. Either way, the custom butter/choc combo beats the hell out of the factory-made combinations.
If you want the no-fat-cell spared approach, take a jar of the cashew or almond butter and a jar of nutella --and take alternating spoonfuls until you wake up on the floor at 2am with your face tingling.
I point these things out so you can see where this path will take you. Maybe you'll start feeling sick just thinking about it and thereby avoid the trap altogether (or get out early). Good luck.
Recovering nut butter abuser,
Norm

Someone at work just asked why the hell I'd gotten so skinny of late. Pre-bikes, I would have taken that as an insult to my masculinity (me man -- me strong like bull). Post-bikes, I took that as a compliment of the highest order.
Am I allowed to hate you? Cuz I sorta do now. :-)Ryan J said:138 this morning on the withings. I'm actually losing weight without trying now. I think it might be the higher intensity workouts. Tons of tempo and sweet spot this winter. Probably be a little heavier in the AM after the crazy dinner we just had at The Grocery.
