We had a lovely race today. We did the longer (4 corner) course.

Horace was talking about canceling these races if interest continued to wane. It would be a tragic loss to the NYC bike racing scene if that happened. I encourage you all to come out if and when you can on Thursday nights and to support the other races that Horace promotes (WS United/Mangoseed). There are some really good ones coming up. It's a lot of fun and in my opinion, the best place to earn your stripes while you learn how to race.

After having watched that (a few too many times maybe...) it seems a little more clear. Coming up to it, I thought I had *just enough* room to get around on the right. And I probably did, until the the other guy hit Misha from behind and pushed his rear wheel over to the right just a little bit, at which point I didn't have enough time to react (and then my hit pushes his back wheel even farther to the right).

Anyway, yes, not happy about crashing but very happy to have walked away from it. Plus I don't think I've been featured in an animated gif before.

You can step through the youtube video at 1080p at 1/4 speed; unfortunately there is something on the lens just in front of the crash...

@Niall - charlie runs the Tuesday night race at FBF. $15 for us. Horace burrowes from WS united runs the Thursday night race. Same fbf but different course (long versus short for Thursday). Either one is fun to do.

Fun race tonight. A couple of crashes in 3/4. Schmalz in yellow yelling at someone for yelling at a junior. CIS was out in force for Lipscomb. Just me and Patrick G.

On my way home my left crank came loose. Put out too much power I guess during the race. Took the train home from flatbush.
